So. What are YOU allergic to?

Penicillin. My joints swell up and it becomes agonizingly painful to move. Then I may or may not die. Wooo!

Fortunately, I’m not allergic to any other antibiotics…that I know of…

Fabric softener. This only became a problem for me a few years ago. Must be an age thing. Itchy!!!

Iam allergic to Penicillan, pineapple, and mango. I think that I am developing a new allergy to something though, becuase I have this weird rash on my face and arms that isn’t going away. I have no Idea what it could be.

It would be easier to say what I’m not allergic to. I once had one of those allergy tests where they prick you with fifty different allergens. I had a reaction to 38 of them. The doctor said he had never seen that many before.

Among the biggies are: dust, cats, dogs, horses, all nuts, MSG, NutraSweet, seafood, some fresh fruit, fabric softener, most detergents, grass, ragweed, pollen . . . and I swear quick temperature changes. If I come into the house out of a cold winter day and put my hands in warm water (like one would do to wash dishes) I will sneeze for ten minutes, its weird.

Too bad bodies do not come with warrenties, cause I would get my money back.

I’m also allergic to nickel, but it seems to affect me only if it is in my ears. Watches, rings, etc. don’t bother me at all, but I can only leave regular earrings in for maybe an hour before my ears itch and burn. I may or may not be allergic to bee stings. I am definitely not deathly allergic, but I broke out in hives once after being stung.(There’s a bad pun hiding there somewhere.) Ever since, I have taken Benadryl after a sting just in case, so I don’t know if it would happen again or not.

Oh yah, I forgot:

Marijuana
Feathers - they do come from animals…

cher3, I’ll open your mail. I took a course of Cipro just last week.

Everything.

No, seriously… I have your typical hay-fever reaction to dust, mold and pollen. Oranges, pineapples, grapefruits, or mangoes send me to the hospital.

Cat saliva. Not cats, mind you, but their saliva. I get hives and stuff from it. Even though I’d like a kitty cat to watch grow up into an old lady or old man cat…I can’t have one.

Various ingredients in different shampoos, soaps, detergents, and deodorants so that when I find one that doesn’t make me break out in a rash, I stick with it.

My allergies are manifest in my skin- no real sneezing type allergies.

That’s very neighborly of you GingerOfTheNorth

Actually, I could have my kids do it. They’ve been on a diet of equal parts macaroni and cheese and amoxicillin for the last month. And my daughter’s preschool just called to say she’s been complaining of a sore throat. Whee.

Well, I’m asthmatic, so I consider things that induce an attack in me to be allergins. Those things include:

Cigarette Smoke. BIG TIME. And I got bitched out by some hoser because I didn’t want to date him because he smoked. Look, doofus, you try waking up when it feels like an elephant is sitting on your chest, and see how YOU like it! <ahem>

Cats - unfortunatly, because I’m a HUGE pet lover, kitties included.

I’m also allergic to:
Peanuts
Erythomycin

Thats it.

Al.

i said it before, i’ll say it again:

i hate cats.

Valium.

I am told that I am allergic to Alcohol.

Honestly, I wonder who came up with that crazy idea!

nearly everything. i have a great allergist, so even though i am very allergic to cats, i have three of them. if i don’t bother the dust the dust won’t bother me. when cleaning house i look like i’m working in the ebola room at the cdc.

love to take those meds… meds what i like to take… sniff the flonase, snort the atrovent…

I really wouldn’t say I’m allergic to it, but there is this one type of deoderant I wore that irritated my underarms slighly.

I have some kind of allergies towards perfume. I went into a perfume store once and had to run out about a minute later because I just couln’t take the smell. My face was red and my lungs felt like they were on fire. Certain pefumes are ok, as long as they aren’t strong. (As a result, I never wear cologne.)

Nature. Pollen. Things That Are Found Outside And From Which I Cannot Escape.

Also penicillin.

Stupid Freakin’ Cats…
:looking up local dog breeders:

cats
27 different pollens
almond oil
lanolin/wool
penicillin
Allegra (my latest discovery)
ramie
dust
mold
whatever caused the bizarre rash on my arm last week

Besides numerous “things that grow in the ground and produce pollen.”

  • Clay(natural). More red than gray.
  • Tomato sauce spices (basil for certain, possibly others- but fortunately not garlic. This one is getting worse, so I am very careful now.)
  • Nickel
  • Mosquiteos, mildly. (half dollar sized welts are attractive)

Cat hair, rodent hair and bananas. I am not allergic to banana hair.
