So what is the ideal source of protein?

Whey protein concentrate probably does contain casein. Whey protein isolate does not.

I’ve never head that Casein is “bad” for you. It does take longer to digest than whey, and may cause gastrointestinal distress for some people. But I’m not sure you have to be concerned about whether you are ingesting it, although it’s a good idea to not limit yourself to only casein protein sources (e.g. dairy products)

(The same sort of worry often accompanies soy protein. It’s been said that it can increase estrogen levels, so men should be wary. I think, based on the science, that it’s not advisable to only get your protein from soy, but I wouldn’t be afraid to eat it - in fact, I love soybeans (edamame) and eat them as a nighttime snack)

Since we’re talking protein, and since I eat a lot of it, and since we’re all friends here…

Protein farts are a thing.

Yeah, if you are eating a high protein diet, your flatulence will increase, and they will become more odoriferous (you know how they say that people usually don’t mind their own farts? Up your protein intake, and you’ll test that tolerance).
