So what should (can) I do to increase my platelet count?

I have started donating platelets. On my last visit, they said there was a not attached to my file that said “Get a platelet count before donation.”

Seems on my last donation, my platelet count was 145,000. Red Cross guidelines suggest a minimum of 151,000 for a donation. This last time my count was 171,000, which was OK, although they said, “That is still on the low side.”

A cursory search shows that “normal” platelet counts are from about 150,000 to 400,000. Is there anything dietary that can bring up platelet numbers?

You could try “Emperor’s Brew”!
