So, who's going to the March for Science?

I’ll be at the march in DC. Who else is marching tomorrow, either in DC, or at other locations?

The event in Boston is a rally, not a march. Lots of speakers and kid-friendly stuff. Various groups are marching to Boston Common, though.

I’m not going because Saturday morning is the only time I could get scheduled to have my tires replaced after getting a flat.

Several of us are meeting at the Smithsonian Metro entrance on the Mall at 10. I’ll be riding in from Branch Ave - I don’t drive in DC!

Wise choice! I drive in DC routinely, but I wouldn’t do so tomorrow. I’ll be parking at the Suitland Metro lot, and taking the Metro from there.

Ill be marching locally!

Me! Going to downtown Fullerton tomorrow.

Being in Jakarta at the moment, I can’t join in, but I am happy to say that my son is marching in the satellite march in Philly.

I’ll be at the one in Cleveland.

I’ll probably park at the Greenbelt station and make my way in to either the Smithsonian or Federal Triangle station. Already got my MetroCard!

I will be at the NYC one.

Are you aware that the Greenbelt station and the next one after it are closed as part of SafeTrack? I assume they’ve got shuttle bus service.

I’ll probably go to the Boston rally.

Uhoh, good to know. Thanks!

March? Scientists? There is no actual physical effort required, right?

The march route here in DC is a couple miles, max, and I’m sure the pace won’t be faster than a slow amble. So some physical effort, but not a whole heck of a lot.

Just about to head on in.

Well, I don’t know where I’ll be, but I’ll know how fast I’m going.

I was planning on going to D.C., but was feeling bad, so I then planned on heading into NYC, but now I’m home in bed.

Science on without me.

Just got back from the March for Science in Atlanta. Good turnout. In fact, there were way more people than at Trump’s inauguration–I know this is true because I feel it in my gut.

Just got back from mine–NY’s Hudson Valley. Somewhere around 1,250 people walking, more at the park where there was a “science teach-in.” A festive mood and a LOT of signs, some of them very funny (“I Am Testing the Efficacy of Marches”; “Ask Me About My Lab” (a little girl with a labrador retriever); “Born to Ask Questions” (on a small child’s stroller); “Ice Doesn’t Have an Agenda: It Just Melts”; “They Told Me I Needed a Sine”–complete with a sine wave).

A good way to spend a couple of hours. Glad I went. Hope others enjoyed theirs too.

I wussed out - I got to DC way too early, thinking there would be displays and stuff. Instead, we stood in the rain for 2 hours before retreating to a museum for a seat and a beverage. At that point, I decided I didn’t want to spend any more time in the rain, so I bade farewell to my companion who intended to hang around, and I returned to the Metro, and thence to my car. I’ve been home about 4 hours, and I’m still chilled.

I’m a big advocate for science and science-y stuff, but I am old enough to know to come in from the rain. I’ll watch the news tonight and see the march.
