Well, here in the US, they are supposed to oppose, but compromise where possible. When the opposition not only refuses to compromise, but votes against their own bills when the president agrees to them, they have gone beyond the bounds of principled opposition.
I also expect Hillary to maintain the status quo. With the addition of a plethora of executive privilege claims. Shhhhhh. Silence is golden and it’s nobodies business what Hillary is up to.
Which is reason enough to vote for Bernie, and then for Trump.
It’s the duty of our elected representatives in both houses of Congress to represent THEIR constituents. That’s why they were elected to office. It’s not their duty to blindly follow a President or blindly oppose a President. In theory.
It’s the duty of the loyal opposition (I love that British term) to present other, possibly better, options.
Good government is based on an ability to compromise. Currently, neither side is willing to compromise with the boneheads on the other side of the aisle. The end result is stalemate (which can be preferred to the passing of bad legislation).

I think we are witnessing the opening salvos of Hillary’s carpet bombing of The Donald. Dispatching him will be but the first of her expressions of power. She’ll be limited even if Congress turns blue, but I am telling you, Clinton will be powerful as president.
