Now that the nominees are basically decided, what are your pluses and minuses of each nominee? Why would you vote for one and encourage a person to vote for one?
Trump comes across as credulous and none too bright. He seems to take conspiracy theories that come from whack-a-doodle sources at face value, accept them, and then repeat them as gospel.
Heck, I don’t even think that he considers his sources or logic AT ALL when absorbing “information” from random nutters off the internet.
Trump seems from past behavior to be very thin-skinned and vindictive. Two traits that are not very valuable in a politician.
i will be voting for Hillary. Pro for Hillary? She’s not Trump. That’s all I have.
In a more informed world, Bernie would be the nominee, but ya plays the cards you’re dealt.
What I like about Clinton:
[ul]
[li]she’s pro-choice[/li][li]she’s experienced and knows government/military[/li][li]she and Bill were essentially “buy one get one free” from 1993-2001, and it worked out well[/li][li]she’s correct on opposing tax cuts for the rich[/li][li]she’s correct on the environment[/li][li]she’s right on LGB rights[/li][li]she believes in American exceptionalism (comparatively to Trump and Obama)[/li][li]she’s a lot more pro-Israel than Obama (and always has been), and potentially Trump[/li][li]she’s a centrist at heart[/li][/ul]
What I don’t like about Clinton:
[ul]
[li]She’s gotten on board with the far-left on transvestites[/li][li]she’s technically supporting the Iran deal (even tho I think that was to keep Biden away)[/li][li]She’s for Syrian Muslim refugees (tho I hope and think she’ll move to the center on this after the left-wing is resigned to Bernie’s inevitable loss)[/li][li]In this campaign, she won’t use the term Radical Islamic Terror (tho she did 10 years ago)[/li][/ul]
What I like about Trump:
[ul]
[li]He’s a punch in the face to all this PC, safe-space, microaggression crap[/li][li]He wants to limit mass Muslim immigration[/li][/ul]
What I don’t like about Trump
[ul]
[li]He has no government/politics experience[/li][li]He wants to deport 12 million people and their kids, who mainly do jobs Americans won’t, which is inhumane and could hurt the economy, particularly the agriculture industry, as well as others[/li][li]He made fun of Eric Garner’s choking death[/li][li]His making Mexico pay for a wall would ruin relations with a great neighbor[/li][li]He is a foreign policy isolationist, wants to essentially scrap NATO[/li][li]He is a protectionist[/li][li]He could hurt relations with China, which is a powerful force, like it or not[/li][li]He openly talked about “neutrality” to Israel/Palestinians, which pleases the libertarians (nonetheless, limiting Muslim immigration is good for Israel given our politics)[/li][li]One day, he’s pro-choice, next day he wants to put women getting abortion in jail. I am very strong on this issue bc if I do my GF and the condom breaks, I only want to have the baby if me and the girl actually want it at that time, given the huge money/time and personal changes it begets[/li][li]He thinks global warming is a hoax[/li][/ul]
Vote for Clinton, because ignorance is not cheap when it can be put into action to undermine our institutions.
One should only picture the kind of like minded ignorants Trump will tap for his cabinet, one can check the following links link and see what kind of person he will look for.
One can then see there that Trump is likely to put someone like Jenny McCarty as director of the NIH
There one can see Trump looking to put a climate change denier like Anthony Watts in charge of NOAA.
And after reading that one can conclude that he could then appoint a racial profiler like Joe Arpaio to run Homeland Security.
And that is just for starters.
Clinton pluses:
A Democrat.
Not a Republican.
Experienced in national government in several capacities.
Might get equal pay for women and stand up for abortion rights and women’s issues generally.
The African-Americans like her, they must have a reason.
A woman – about time, why not?
Not stupid.
Not insane.
Not prone to rage.
Not Trump.
Minuses:
An Establishment Democrat – socially liberal, but with the viewpoint and loyal to the interests of her own class, the 10%, the new class of degreed professionals and managers, and not to the middle or working or poor classes, despite her own middle-class origin. Like Bill and Obama, she seems to have internalized the (false) notion that “meritocracy” propels to the top people of greater worth and value than the rest, not only mentally but morally.
Economically a globalizing, neoliberal, supply-side, Third Way New Democrat – IOW, still and inexplicably (unless you take the above into account) devoted to a school of economics which is by now at least as thoroughly and obviously discredited as the Stalinist model of Communism. It never has the intended results when tried . . . or, rather, it does, consistently, only those who implemented it weren’t being honest about the intended results.
Ethically dubious. She’s like Slick Willie – unfairly and insanely maligned by the right as corrupt, and yet seems to get away with so much that you’re tempted to think there’s gotta be something there.
A woman – which probably will not lose her more votes than it wins her, but might provoke a sexist backlash the way Obama becoming president provoked a racist backlash.
Is much, much too warhawkish, possibly even more dangerous than Trump in that regard; in any case, that’s the last thing we need in the WH right now.
Trump pluses:
Not a Republican.
Is probably a native-born citizen constitutionally qualified to be president, provided that the extraterrestrial scalp parasite that controls his mind is counted as a separate being, which, admittedly, might be stretching things a bit at this point.
Trump is an egotistical maniac and a felon.
Clinton is the embodiment of the corrupt establishment. I’ll probably vote for Jill Stein.
One of the best “Against” Trump opinion from the conservative view comes from this conservative evangelical that I have seen quoted in Breitbart before. (not for this article, of course)
I find it amusing our OP is more transphobic then the presumptive Republican nominee for President.
Why I like Clinton:
She seems like a competent rational adult who has experience in politics at the Presidential level.
Why I don’t like Trump:
He does not.
More specifically, Trump doesn’t appear to give enough thought to what he says or does. Simple answers may sound appealing but a lot of what a President has to do is actually very complicated; simple answers generally won’t work.
Trump doesn’t seem like a person who will listen to other people, even if they know more than he does.
Many of the ideas Trump has put forth are unworkable. Other countries aren’t going to do things just because Trump tells them do. Neither will Congress.
Trump’s tax plan is terrible and would lead to a massive increase in the national debt.
Put me down as thinking the question is too silly to ask. Trump has incompetent views on all policy matters, and lacks the proper temperament for the job. At least one of his closest advisors has admitted this was all a publicity stunt that got out of hand. Go down to any drunk tank and play Eeny-Meeny-Miney-Moe and you’ll probable pick a better President. Even some voting for Trump have admitted that the vote is just their way of saying F**K YOU to the establishment.
Trump might actually do a better job than some of the other GOP clowns would do, e.g. Carson or Rubio. That just shows what an utter disaster this GOP season has been.
I took one of those jolly little tests linked from here and it said I am 89% in accordance with Sanders — and I’m not even a socialist.
Were I American, and if I would vote, and if a gun was at my head forcing me to choose — nothing is worth a human life, when it’s my own — then I would select Trump in a heartbeat: simply because he’s not a Hillary.
She’s graceless, corrupt, vulgar and consumed with ignorant self-belief: compared, he is none of these foolish things.
Tell me you were being sarcastic. The sentence would’ve fit with Trump and Clinton switched.
Who are the transvestites? Is this person a transvestite?
A transvestite is a person who pretends to be a sex he/she is not. Examples: Bruce Jenner, Chastity Bono, and Bradley Manning. And yes, Aydian fits the bill.
if you have a y-chromosome, you’re a male. If you don’t, you’re a female. PERIOD. Gender and sex are the same; this idiocy of changing the definition of them is just that. I’m not a conservative on LGB rights, but I’ve gone thru this before..
(On the genetic mutations, then OK that’s a different case)
Nice try tho to hijack my thread. In case you missed it, if a lot of moderate suburban Repubs and Indies join Hillary’s coalition against Donald Trump, she’s gonna have a lot more likeminded supporters about things like this. There is one person who “assigns” one’s gender. His name is The Lord. He also assigns sexuality (what gender ones genitals get aroused to). I don’t buy this ish that gender and sexuality have some kind of bendable definition.
Let me revise the OP’s list for myself:
What I like about Clinton:
[ul]
[li]she’s pro-choice[/li][li]she’s experienced and knows government/military[/li][li]she and Bill were essentially “buy one get one free” from 1993-2001, and it worked out well[/li][li]she’s correct on opposing tax cuts for the rich[/li][li]she’s correct on the environment[/li][li]she’s right on LGBT rights[/li][li]she’s a centrist at heart[/li][li]she’s technically supporting the Iran deal (even tho I think that was to keep Biden away)[/li][li]She’s for Syrian Muslim refugees[/ul][/li]
What I don’t like about Clinton:
[ul]
[li]She’s still got a massive chip on her shoulder which drives her hawkishness.[/li][li]Her stated principles at any given moment are aligned with what she perceives to be popular and/or politically expedient rather than what she actually believes. [/li][li]While not criminally corrupt, she’s an old-school political wheeler-dealer of the sort that frequently strayed to the wrong side of the line when it served a purpose. Hers will be a presidency of even less transparency.[/li][/ul]
What I like about Trump:
[ul]
[li]He’s not Cruz, Rubio, Fiorina, Carson, Santorum, Gingrich, Huckabee, Perry, etc, etc.[/li][/ul]
What I don’t like about Trump
[ul]
[li]He’s [del]a punch in the face to all this PC, safe-space, microaggression crap[/del] a raging asshole.[/li][li]He wants to limit mass Muslim immigration for no good reason.[/li][li]He has no government/politics experience[/li][li]He wants to deport 12 million people and their kids, who mainly do jobs Americans won’t, which is inhumane and could hurt the economy, particularly the agriculture industry, as well as others[/li][li]He made fun of Eric Garner’s choking death[/li][li]His making Mexico pay for a wall would ruin relations with a great neighbor[/li][li]He is a foreign policy isolationist, wants to essentially scrap NATO[/li][li]He is a protectionist[/li][li]He could hurt relations with China, which is a powerful force, like it or not[/li][li]One day, he’s pro-choice, next day he wants to put women getting abortion in jail. In fact, his position on quite a lot of issues[/li][li]He thinks global warming is a hoax[/li][li]He wants to use the power of the government to persecute anyone who criticizes him. [/li][li]He has advocated shooting down Russian planes, which will likely lead to increased global tensions.[/li][li]He would make the US the laughingstock of the world while destroying its economy and starting more wars, all for the sake of his own ego.[/li][li]The “raging asshole” thing again.[/li][/ul]
When you refuse to call a group by the correct name because you don’t like the group, and repeatedly use the wrong name on purpose, you’re going to get called out for it.
That’s not the scientifically accepted definition of the word transvestite. You can disagree with the huge piles of medical research and the testimonies of millions of people all you want, but I don’t see why you have to be so aggressive in not using the terminology in the way it is intended.
I’m a centrist Democrat. I strongly supported Martin O’Malley in the primaries (we all know how well that worked out), and still think he’d have been a stronger candidate and better President than either of the two likely major-party candidates. But now, faced with a choice between the Democrat, a politically-experienced serial liar with whom I agree on most issues, and the Republican, a political neophyte borderline-fascist egomaniacal bully, I’ll take Option A in a heartbeat.
Science has always held male and female to separated by gametes and chromosomes. Sadly, the SJWs and their toadies in the media have tried to hijack the medical voices, but not everyone is buying it. A cross dresser is a cross dresser. A male a male, a female a female,.
