And engaging how? From what I’ve seen, he’s said that his comments were more or less taken out of context. Again, unless he said so elsewhere, he hasn’t said a thing against home made masks, simply because it’d make no sense, as his whole point was that wearing masks was taking them away from healthcare workers and making them yourself obviously fixes that. He’s allowed to defend himself when a Pit thread is made him, despite how loudly Broomstick screams for him to shut up and piss off. I honestly expected a LOT worse from him, seeing Broomstick’s replies, but nope, just not seeing it… And before Broomy makes a post about me too, I’m of the opinion that yes, of course all essential employees should have masks. I used to work nutrition services at a hospital - I’m worried for my former coworkers and I hope they have all the protection they can get. I don’t want to see anyone die from this, and I’m 100% sure Luci doesn’t want to see that either, despite assertations otherwise.
I’m pretty sure if everyone just calms down and uses their Big Boy/Girl words, this could actually be pretty reasonably cleared up or explained. Of course, that won’t happen in the Pit :rolleyes:

My question is whether or not Kroger is donning a costume to try and get the government to donate some money to their effort. That’s just a suspicion so far. Don’t know that I’ve ever been to a Kroger’s.
Kroger is one the world’s largest retailers. It operates something like 3,000 locations all around the United States under a few dozen different brand names. If you have ever been to a Ralphs or a Harris-Teeter, you’ve basically been to a Kroger.
It’s not about deserve, it’s about need.

Read it in one of the lefty/libby news sources, from a doctor who specializes in this sort of thing. According to him, even fairly rudimentary protective gear is very useful, cutting down your odds by about 90% plus.
This includes my home made face shield (T-shirt, Elmers’ glue, good intentions). That will stop liquid droplets, which is big, since the virus live in liquid and die without it. Here in the People’s Republic of Minnesota, that would include winter scarves, though not quite as good. The paper shield is good, that cloth shield is better, both depend on your breathing through the shield. Some air will get through the sides and edges, but still pretty darn good.
Of course, this does not include health workers who are in immediate and constant contact with patients, they need the full regalia. Need, must have, nothing less will do.

Look, I want everyone to have the right PPE, whether they’re healthcare workers or civilians. If we have to prioritize them, I’d rather grocery store workers, instacart shoppers, and people working at the unemployment office to have them even if it means I can’t. But healthcare workers, of all people in society, need them more than anyone else. They’re the last line of defense.
Unless they work at a grocery store. Then it’s wishing suffering and death and plague on them.
