I am the target audience. If you want start a war and then stay in office next election, you are going to have to go through me. You want to prevent a war; I am the guy that you have to convince. Think I’m kidding? Well, think again. I am a standard working, standard educated voting guy. I keep on in the issues, and talk to people a lot. I also buy a lot of stuff.
So pay attention, folks on the left and the right. All of you need to stop insulting my intelligence. I really have to admit that I am getting fed up with it.
Someone needs to explain to me just why it is that we seem to be ignoring Korea (who seems on the verge of being able to nuke our western cities), and instead choosing to focus on Iraq. I have yet to be convinced that they are a threat to us. Also, on the Korea note, you would do well to tell me why it seems that the only way that the United States will actually negotiate with a country is if that country has nuclear capabilities. You may also think about being a little less cavalier with my personal freedoms, and this Orwell Ian stuff confuses and frightens me. I want to feel like one of the “good guys” and this is all not helping.
You other folks need to stop telling me that it is blood for oil unless you are prepared to prove it to me in a way that I can understand. Otherwise, you look kind of wacky to me and I will probably get annoyed. While we are at it, you guys can stop being so obviously contemptuous of my cultural literacy and choices. Another thing that might help is if you were to keep some of your unsubstantiated conspiracy theories to yourself. They make me not believe anything you say.
Sorry to say this guys, but both of you are consistently missing the mark. You are constantly under or over estimating what I know and care about. You either bury me in pointless details, or present the facts so simplistically that it is insulting. All that you are doing is making me apathetic.
