So... you think you have the perfect voice for radio?

I don’t mind how it arrives, I have editing software and I can chop it up if it’s all in one file; the only reason I can think of for creating separate ones is that it might help to mentally prepare yourself for each phrase, so that they don’t sound like they are part of a run-on sentence, but if you can do that in a single file, it will be great.

Done and done!

I’ve been an actual radio person since 1980 - total refusal to get a real job. If you give me your physical address, I’ll cut you a CD with anything you like on it. Tell us more about your project - it sounds interesting. Although to me anything that isn’t Clear Channel or Westwood One seems like the Holy Grail.

Dan, thanks for the samples; they are great and I will definitely be using them (but don’t let that stop anyone else contributing - some of the jingles will need more than one voice saying the same thing slightly overlapped, if that makes any sense).

Kalex, thanks for the offer, I’d like to take you up on it, but will it be practical for you to send the CD to the UK - I wouldn’t like to presume…

Awesome!

I mean, uh… [fake baritone] awe-some.
If anyone asks me what I’m gonna do with my life, I’ll send them this thread. It won’t explain much, but it’ll give me satisfaction of some sort.

Glad you liked.

Dan, could you email me another one of you saying ‘Awe-some’
?

Sure, why not? Soon as I get home.

Cmon you guys, don’t let me be the only one!

How about one saying “NICE” in a Jazz Club stylee?

Yeah, why not?

CorBlimeyGuvnor do you fancy recording one that says “100% whelk-free… guaranteed!” ?

sure thing matey, let me know what i have to do next then.
being a technoprat, its all cool conditioned air to me
:smack:

87.9 FM… ribbed for your pleasure since 2001!

(Here’s one I’ve used in the car…)

The coolest little rock n’ roll radio station in the world - 87.9 FM.

Check yer email.

gotta download some decent recording software… soon as I do, I’m in there!

All I used was Sound Recorder, and apparently it was good enough for Mangetout

The standard of submission has so far been very good; thanks to all contributors.

The recording quality needn’t be professional as long as it is clear - I can do a fair bit of cleaning up at this end.

I’m also open to suggestions/contributions not in the list above - if anyone can think up something along similar lines that sounds good, please don’t be shy; send it in!

Dammit, every time I try to do it, it sounds wrong. How do you want this “awesome” to sound?

(And don’t tell me you want it to sound “awesome”!)

OK, here’s my very first attempt (be gentle with me) at mixing a station ident/jingle, featuring the voice of the one and only dantheman!

my sound recorder sounds REAL staticky… if that is whats workin for you, dantheman then it must be that the mic I’m using is crap (which I already knew)… I will try to find another mic with 1/8" phone connectors… or play with recorder 'til I get it clearer…

it WAS the mic… mostly. anywho, Mangetout you got some stuff in your inbox… let me know what you think.

I just emailed my submission, Mangetout.
