There’s been a lot of questions about flying on the board, so in that spirit I offer a short YouTube video ot Svetlana Kapanina. Svetlana is a Russian aerobatic pilot who ranks amount the best in the world. Not only that, she’s blond, she’s female and rather attractive.

She’s flying a Russian build aircraft. In her right hand is the stick, her left hand has the throttle. Pay attention to her body as she is thrown against the restraints during the aerobatic routine as viewed from within the cockpit. I’m surprised she isn’t black and blue from those harnesses stretching as she flies.

The fun starts about 4:10 into the video and just gets better. At 6 mins in she’s showing a lightning fast role rate as she flings that aircraft through the sky. I’m totally impressed. Svetlana Kapanina is one great pilot.

Damn! She is cool as a cucumber and scorching hot at the same time.

Seems like they weren’t tight enough; during inverted flight her butt is lifting up off of the seat. I would have thought that would make for sloppy control (and also a lot more trauma at the straps’ contact points on her shoulders).

Funny thing is that she acts totally casual during the whole flight. Seems like she might as well just be flipping burgers down at the local diner.

That’s just the way it is. It doesn’t matter how tight you get the negative g strap, you still seem to lift a bit when inverted.
