So you beat the hell out of a guy trying to steal his car. OK.
Then you steal the bathrobe right off the guy, leaving the poor schnook bleeding, helpless, and naked on the street.
But hey, at least you were considerate enough to give the bloody bathrobe to your mother for Christmas!

That’s more a matter of being considerate to some people, and not to others. It’s quite common.
Take some of the worst insults on this board: do you think most of us would say them to our significant other or a belovedly close family member?
Then again, giving your mother something you stole that can connect you to a crime is not only not considerate, but rather dumb.
Not to mention…bloody? Stolen or not, that’s not an adjective that is normally attached to Christmas gifts.
