It’s not like this is happening on a Russian road.
I’d do whatever I could to force myself to wake up.
But you just got the evidence, right? But I see where you are coming from - TV is full of skeptics who retain their skepticism in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary. I think this appeals to non-skeptics because it implies that skeptics disbelieve out of blindness, not out of lack of evidence. Like at the end of “The Last Battle.”
I’d hope that a skeptic and non-skeptic would react to this discovery in the same way, except that the skeptic would be more surprised.
Whoa, now.
When did absence of evidence become evidence of absence?
It didn’t, that’s when.
A full grown silverback gorilla can be about 6’ tall, and well over 400 lbs. I think an 8’ sasquatch could easily be over 600 lbs.
Remember we’re talking about Bigfoot here. North American is not unexplored. There’s certain evidence you would expect to find if there was a breeding population of large primates. The absence of that is actually pretty strong evidence of absence.
So forget about the Boy Scouts.
It’s the Fermi Paradox with big hairy feet.
As for me, I’ll stick by Sagan’s side in this discussion.
And I’ll mention Pileated Woodpeckers as a sort of red herring.
Nobody saw any for the longest dang time. Then, there they were.
That’s why I keep a chainsaw in my trunk.
I’ve only got aBecker Tac Tool. I’m gonna be here all night.
That would seem to be the appropriate response based on this news report
Totally this. I take it to Christies and sell to the highest bidder. Bids start at $100 million.
Pray tell: what is Sagan’s side in this discussion? I heartily agree that the Pileated Woodpecker, not being 8’ tall - 600 to 800 lb, is a red herring.
