Solar eclipses: partial vs totality

According to this map it looks like you are slightly better off in Illinois, but it is probably pretty much a toss-up between locations.

Best shot is in Oregon?

Thanks for that map – helpful! It’s good to see the likeliness of cloud cover.

But, and this is a nit-pick, does anyone else find the color scheme less helpful than it could have been? Some green shades mean Good Conditions (0-10%, 10-20%), while other green shades mean Not So Good Conditions (40-50%, 50-60%, 60-70% cloudiness).

I wish the author used a more intuitive color scale, like greens for good, yellows for medium, and pinks and reds for not good.

I just sent feedback on that map color scheme. Hopefully it’s a quick fix for Jay Anderson!

Looks like the guy is totally color-blind. Not unusual, judging from many maps I’ve seen.
