Solara Covertible -- good car? winterproof?

I’m in the market for a new car, and am thinking about the Toyota Solara convertible. I love my Camry and I think the new Solara looks good, although maybe a little too girly (gay, old farty?). My concern is having a convertible during a Canadian winter. Any thoughts on the Solara or winter convertible driving in general?

I have a collegue who owns one, and she has never complained about her Solara in the winter. It’s a convertable and quite a nice little car.

Does she also live at 41 degrees North?

Not the convertable, but my dad had a solara for about 5 years, just got rid of it. Took much abuse from me and my twin brother. Not “gay, girly or old farty” at all.
