I watched this movie again today for the first time since I saw it in theaters, and I think the film gets a bum rap. It’s considered one of the weakest of the Star Wars films, but I actually really liked it.
I dug L3-37 and Lando’s crush on her, and the droid’s status as a social justice warrior. I loved the Kessel Run scene. I enjoyed all the double-crosses, and Dryden’s lightsaber brass knuckles.
I loved the scene in which Han and Chewie first met and “fake-fought” to escape their captivity.
And how about that appearance by Erin Kelleyman as the leader of the “marauders”, a full three years or so before she played the bad guy in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier?
This one deserves a second look.
