Due to construction, our parking garage at work is closed. I’ve been unceremoniously booted out to park with the peons. When I got to my car this afternoon, I realized I had left a soda in the refrigerator in the office. Not to worry, I thought, I’ve got some in the car. There were three cans of soda that I had taken out of the box yesterday when I cleaned the car. They were, of course, very warm from sitting in the hot car all afternoon, and clearly undrinkable.
I then noticed that the bottom of one of the cans was sticking out, like when a can of something gets left in the freezer. But the other two were fine. Why one and not the others? Conceivably the one was in direct sunlight and the others were not, but they felt just as warm as each other. Could it have been a structural weakness? If not, then what?
