Has anyone heard of Office of Strategic Influence (OSI)? I recently discovered this group and I really love their stuff. I’d call it a sort of “progressive metal” style of music. I also like Blue Man Group’s music.
John Paul Jones’ album ‘Zooma’ is a good example of instrumental rock.
The Happy Organ-Dave “Baby” Cortez
“I Robot”, “Lucifer”, and “Sirius” by [Dr. Evil] the Alan Parsons Project [/Dr. Evil].
“Fanfare for the Common Man” by Emerson, Lake, and Palmer (gorgeous percussion).
Can’t forget “Bouree” by Jethro Tull.
Coldfire has graciously allowed me to mention Rush’s “The Rhythm Method”.
We’ve gone a long way in his thread with no mention of Eric Johnson’s album “Ah Via Musicom”. “Cliffs of Dover”, anyone?
But “Tusk” does have lyrics! Although the marching bandand tribal chanting do make it a very odd song…
And how could I have forgotten to mention “Bourée”? I love Tull!
Stanley Clarke - School Days
I can’t believe none of you Allman Brothers fans listed Jessica! That’s maybe my favorite instrumental rock song of all time.
