Some good news- I think

For about 18 months now I have been getting abdominal pains, nausea and dreadful heartburn. I was putting off seeing the doctor as I had convinced myself I had cirhossis or something sinister that would cause a drastic lifestyle change.

Last week I could stand it no longer. The doctor sent me for a Cat Scan which revealed everything disgustingly normal. He then gave me an option of an ultra sound which I took up in order to convince myself that the whole thing was a figment of my imagination.

I had that yesterday and it was the longest half day of my life waiting for the results.

It came back- and no liver damage. What a relief- I will have a beer to celebrate.

The problem is a diseased gall bladder which will have to be removed. The doctor wondered why I was happy when he told me.

Uh, congratulations on your upcoming gallbladder surgery? :dubious:

No, actually I totally get it. One, now you know what’s wrong and it can be fixed. Two, the doctor was finally able to find something to treat, so you don’t feel like a Munchausen patient anymore.

I hate it when I go to the doctor because I feel like crap for whatever reason, and they can’t find anything wrong. I’m actually looking forward to the report from the MRI and EMG I’m having done today (suspected pinched nerve in my neck, creating lovely tingling and numbness down my right – dominant – arm. Oh joy).
