Thought I would try posting some here, see what people think.
I don’t think I’ve ever posted any art here before. Let me know if this works!
Here are a couple of pics:
It will be interesting to hear what folks make of this, if they haven’t seen the show …
It works, I haven’t seen the show, but I like what you’ve done.
Drawings are well done, but why the choice of those side characters? Why no Ponyhead or Glosseric or Katrina Bulgolyubov?
I have never seen whatever show you’re referring to, but I like the art. Good lines and I like the 3-color thing you did: the gold foil is really cool.
Never heard of the show but how’d you do that gold color??
Looks really pro, good job.
Thanks!
I use a gold leafing paint pen; I like using only black, white and gold, because it kinda forces me to make the designs more abstract.
Ah yes, everyone’s favorite character, Princess Ponyhead.
I’ve actually done these characters, as part of a set of Cards I’ve been working on based on the show (unfinished).
Taken with a crappier camera, unfortunately.
Ponyhead is on the Queen of Clubs:
Katrina riding her dad’s shoulder on the Jack of Spades:
And Glossaryk is, of course, the Joker. Though I don’t have a pic of that card yet.
Here’s one of Star:
Good work. Of course, as far as playing cards go, everybody knows that nothing beats Spider With a Top Hat.
I must admit, I’ve done no Spider with a Top Hat.
Laser Puppies? Quest Buy sloths?
Not yet - though if I ever complete the card set, they will definitely be included. The puppies will be on the two of hearts, according to my scheme. The sloths will be on a low club.
I’m thinking for pretty much every Doper reading this thread we are talking in gibberish.
No doubt!
Here’s some fan art that I am certain would make absolutely no sense to anyone who hasn’t seen the show.
Anyway, I’m certainly hyped for the season three finale …
If anyone is following this show, the season 3 finale was shown this weekend, and it was awesome.
So the 4th season (and entire series) has now ended. To me Season 3 was disappointing compared to the first two, but Season 4 was really sock-blowing. Darker while keeping the humor and with an epic season-long story arc (but with plenty of stand-alone episodes sprinkled in. The show changed setting and scope over the four seasons more than you see with most series. (Here are a couple of great but spoilerly reviews.) (Series available on Hulu.)
