Some examples…
These people are such idiots.
1996, 2001, 2002. Not news.
You don’t like Republicans. Also not news.
Get a better hobby, Reeder.
I hate idiots.
Here’s another one from one of their ilk:
“Fuck off, Reeder.”
–UncleBeer, Straight Dope Message Board - March 11, 2004–
And how 'bout this one from a Democrat? You can search it out yourself, and while this isn’t the actual quote, it is paraphrased only slightly and it is his actual idea.
“We can solve the noise complaints near the airport by moving deaf families to that area.”
–Carty Finkbeiner, Toledo Mayor, 1994–
What the fuck is a “deaf family?”
In further recognition of bipartisan stupidity, let us not forget this immortal example:
"“A zebra does not change its spots.” - Al Gore, attacking President George Bush in 1992.*
*From the 1999 365 Stupidest Things Ever Said calendar.
Is that the best you guys can do??
Rank amateurs.
I’d love to see that Bush quote in context. What was the question to which he was responding?
Despite my plan to vote a lefty ticket in November, this can’t be said enough:
Hey, how about another one?
Mmm. I like the sound of that.
Stop not doing us favors, dude. We don’t like having you on the team any more than the conservatives like having The_Broken_Column. So with that:
Tu quoque much, Reeder?
Is that the same Bob Woodward that broke Watergate?
The very same.
Look, I’m just fucking sick and tired of you taking these little sound bites out of context, Beer.
Cite?
Seriously though Reeder, we on the left have a hard enough time living down the loony label. You are not helping a bit.
Will someone tell me what is so loony about taking words that actually came out of these idiots mouths and posting them for the world to see?
Y’all embarrassed or what?
I’d call it “Democratic porn,” except that all the Democrats around here seem to be united with their Republican brethren in deciding that you’re just a moronic little twit, Reeder.
Self-loathing is a terrible thing, isn’t it?
Reeder, we’ve been down this road before, haven’t we?
You posted some quotes, you called them “idiots”, and that was it. It’s similar in content to countless other threads you’ve started. All it demonstrates is your deep hatred for Republicans, which has been firmly established.
So, what was the point? After all the other threads you’ve started, you couldn’t have expected anything different.
Because, my myopic friend, there are countless issues of real substance that one could bring up to criticize our current administration. What you are doing just seems childish and churlish. It is not productive, and it is rather embarrassing to those of us who happen to share some of your political leanings (in the same way that it is embarrassing to see someone walking down the street who has wet his pants and doesn’t know it).
Why don’t you start a thread in which you pick one specific policy of the Bush administration that you are against, explain why in coherent terms and then for bonus points offer an alternative to this policy and explain why it would be better. That would be pretty cool, and you might learn something as well.
