I got a “mangled in the mail” notice yesterday saying:
Okay. The address portion was “typed” (computer printout, not a commercial form) and taped to a fairly sturdy box, judging by the piece of corrugated cardboard they sent me. It was sent to [short version of first name], not [long version of first name] or [first and middle initials], so fairly clearly sent by a person and not a company. I do use [short version of first name] at half.com and ebay – but haven’t bought anything there recently. I’ve got some plants coming, but I bought those from a company that would have a regular shipping type label, and a friend offered to send me a “bummer about losing your job, let me cheer you up” present, but that wouldn’t be media mail.
Nope. Don’t participate (though I definitely should). I’m not aware of any books, CDs, or DVDs that might be headed my way.
There’s only one other thing I’m expecting, and that’s some dill seeds – when I got the thing from the PO, I assumed my friend had just thrown them into a regular envelope and it had torn going through the machine.
