If it was one that doesn’t screw into itself, I wouldn’t bet on someone unhooking him. I watched my dog unclip both this kind and this kind (on seperate occasions, of course) by jamming them on tree roots sticking out of the ground. No damage was done, but after the second time we changed to one we screwed closed. Not that that always stopped her, she could batter it enough to loosen it every few months. Still, it worked better than the first two types.
