Someone else - have a donut already!

An attorney is leaving our office today. It is somewhat of a tradition for te office to provide some eats in the breakroom when someone leaves. The breakroom is directly across the hall from my office.

Apparently whoever got the bagels and Krispy Kremes this a.m. didn’t check how many folk were planning on being in today, as 2-3 dozen bagels and 4 doz donuts were approximatelly twice as much as needed. It is now after 3 p.m., and there are still more than a dozen donuts, and probably as many bagels left.

Now I just hate to see good food go to waste, so I have been singlehandedly decimating the pastries all day long. I certainly lost specific count some while ago, but I’d estimate 2-3 bagels and 5-6 donuts. HOWZABOUT A LITTLE HELP HERE? I DON’T THINK I WILL BE ABLE TO EAT ALL OF THE DONUTS OVER THE NEXT HOUR OR SO!

The raisins, carrots, and apple I packed have gone uneaten. And my keyboard is getting all gummed up from the glaze. Thank goodness I wore a braided belt today, as I fear otherwise I might have run out of holes.

Maybe just one more…

I’ve had poppy seed cake, a (small) carrot muffin, and a (small) blueberry muffin today because somebody ordered too much stuff for some breakfast meeting. There they were, staring me in the face. That got me jonesin’ for more sugary stuff, so it was time for peanut M&Ms.

Ugh.

Did I mention I usually eat low-carb foods?

I wish I’d have known…

I just returned to my desk after going to get a candy bar to get me throught the rest of this slow, dreary Friday afternoon.

I’d have preferred a donut.
