What do you call someone who makes a reservation? A reservationee? Is there a word? Can you think of a synonym for this term?
I think it is reservationist. Although patron makes a little more sense although it is not as specific.
Yes, this word is in the Oxford English Dictionary.
Reserver makes more sense to me, but what do I know?
We used to simply call it a ‘table’. Seriously.
Many, many, moons ago, I broke into the restaurant/bar business as a cashier/host.
When talking about the people we would say something to the effect of, ‘I have a table of five at eight’, or ‘The Marxx table is a no-show. Open it up to the next six top’.
Or, how about ‘party’? We used that one alot too- ‘The Jackson party called for an eight o’clock on the fifth.’
Worked for us.
“Sir.” Or “Madam.”
