Something I just noticed about Hoosiers (the movie).

How the hell did Buddy get back on the team?

Wasn’t he the smart-mouth at the first practiced whom coach Dale kicked out? Whit’s dad (I think it was Whit) dragged him back by the ear to beg to be back on the team. Not Buddy. He just showed up in a game one day.

What’s up with that? I want vindication. I want to know that Buddy had to prostrate himself before coach Dale and lick his boots for the pleasure of being whipped into shape before being granted the privilege of identifying opposing players’ gum, damn it!

I want answers, and I want them now!

Or later. Whenever.

It was in a scene that was cut from the movie. The Sports Guy on ESPN’s page 2 did a column about this a little while back, I’ll see if I can find the link.

I knew this was going to be the question when I saw the title

I also knew this was going to be the question. It’s the age-old question of Hoosiers and diku got it right.

Bill Simmons ESPN review. Check out the real story particularly the abscence of the shot clock.

Great column! Great article! Great whatever-it-was!

Just want to show my support for the Hoosiers love.

I’ve got to go set up some folding chairs on my driveway and dribble through them now.
