I was too enthralled by the original line in my sig to realize that the earlier line from the song fit this place better…
Guess there aren’t many Soul Coughing fans out there?
“Rolling with the dopes you know. Rolling with the wrong gun on you”
“I dream that she aims to be the bloom upon my misery”
Yeah, I like Soul Coughing–I don’t know much of theirs, but what I’ve heard, I like. Super Bon Bon, and Circles are the two songs I’m most familiar with.
Huge soul coughing fan here. Well, I’m not huge, rather average sized actually, but I really like them.

She’s gone,
Gone gone

I like Soul Coughing myself, and am less familiar with El Oso than their earlier stuff. I got into them whilst living in Minneapolis, and in the liner notes for Irresistible Bliss they thank Rev 105 which was the radio station that gave them alot of play there. In fact the band has sold about 40%(IIRC) of their albums in Minnesota.
TheNerd:
what song is that? I’ve not listened to everything on Ruby Vroom, but I love Bus to Beelzebub. Yuval Gabay is a great drummer.
It’s good to see that I’m not the only one that’s heard of Soul Coughing. I love them because they don’t make a whole lot of sense in their lyrics, but that makes it wide open for interpretations. Plus it’s great to sing a few lines and have the people look at you funny and ask what you’re singing.

I like El Oso the best, i think. Mostly 'cause it kicks ass for music to drive to.
(Did you know that it takes about 11 CD’s to drive from Houston to Atlanta, and about 9 to get back? If Soul Coughing features prominently)
Though “Screenwriter’s Blues” is great for late late night cruising.
I only know what I’ve heard on the radio. I didn’t care for “Circles” too much, but “Su[er Bon-Bon” was great. Move aside, and let the man go through…
An infinite number of rednecks in an infinite number of pickup trucks shooting an infinite number of shotguns at an infinite number of road signs will eventually produce all the world’s great works of literature in Braille.
Ok, I typed a bunch of stuff here. Then my browser crashed. Crap.
Basically I was saying that it’s good to talk to people that at least know of this band.
The propellerheads remixed Super Bon Bon and it was really cool. Then I heard the original and was only disappointed that the original wasn’t as fast.
Super Bon Bon is a featured track in PSX’s Gran Turismo 2. I drive best when that’s the song I drive to.

Lots of good info, especially the background to Super Bon Bon. I’m waiting for the backgrounds for El Oso.
I like driving to ‘Collapse,’ ‘Houston,’ ‘Monsterman,’ hell, I like all the damn songs… I just don’t listen to all of them as much as others. I love these guys.
