Something in the backgournd of some old French movies

I’ve been watching some old French movies and sometimes in the background of some city (Paris?) scenes there is a structure that looks vaguely reminiscent of the Taj Mahal.

Any idea what this structure may be?

I reckon it’s in some new French movies as well; it’s one of the most recognizable structures in Paris.
