Okay, now, how can we turn this into a complete aphorism trainwreck?
I’m actually loafing here; I’m supposed to be painting my roommate’s floor before he gets back from the hospital. But I’ve been at it quite awhile, and my resolve is fading. Plus, I cut my thumb all deep with a chisel. :frowning:

Sorry to hear about your work-related accident!

I must confess that I didn’t pick up on your desires for how this thread would go. I just took it to be a hunt for odd three-at-a-whack things with as much humor involved as possible. Mine were mostly off-the-cuff with little if any self-editing.

My one attempt at humor, by pointing out that the Three Musketeers were actually four in number, seems to have avoided producing any copycats. On the other hand, there have been some very clever turns in almost every post.

I sense that the participants would like to keep this going. I would. So what are the rules?

There are no rules… mwa-ha-ha-ha-haaa! (did I get that first syllable right?)
Tell you what, keeping with the theme of three already in place, and since my birthdate is 3/3/nevermindwhat3…
Let’s move on to lines from movies, books, or otherwise famous, that have to do with three.
I’ll start:
“Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out.” –Monty Python & the Holy Grail
