I was sitting at my PC just now, transferring some misfiled programs into the folder where they belong; something caught my eye and I looked up.
I saw a black butterfly very clearly. It was ascending the wall next to the window in that jerky butterfly way. Then it seemed to lose its grip & slide down the wall, the way they sometimes do. For some reason, I had to look down again for a moment, and it was gone when I looked back up. It wasn’t a floater; it wasn’t any actual living bug that I can find. It didn’t look like a moth. There’s nothing on the floor or behind my PC or desk.
I am not tired or up later than usual. I am not high or anything. I have not been watching spooky stuff. I’m in a pretty good mood.
Do you have a natural light or fluorescent? Under some lights, certain colors don’t show. I once accidentally bought some green pants at a store because they appeared black under the store lights.
Whenever things like that happen, I wonder if I’m at the wrong end of a horror movie. You know, the camera is following the evil cannibalistic* demonflies as they sneak up on the unsuspecting prey…
YOU!
Hey, Occam’s razor only tells us what is likely, you know!
*though cannibalistic, they eat humans too. Also, they can turn invisible and are vulnerable to kryptonite.
Do you have a fever? I occasionally hallucinate when feverish. The last thing I “saw” while mildly ill was a puff of bright sparkly fake snow being blown by a store display of Christmas trees. When I looked on the floor for the snow, nothing was there.
It was the Butterfly Effect people keep talking about. It appears to warn those who are going to make some intrascendental step that will grow to reach catastrophic results. You better stay at home and, for God’s sake, don’t touch anything.
Or it was a cockroach with the wings unfolded. Take your pick.
