Ok here it goes. I think it was a war movie, or maybe a TV show. Someone was talking about Dunkirk. Either remembering what happened to them or what someone else told them. As the British troops were lined up waiting for their spot on a boat they would get straffed by the Luftwaffe. The person tellng the story says something about no one panicing and hearing the Sergeant order “Close ranks, March!” (something like that) to fill in the holes left by the fallen. I have a feeling I should know what this is from and I will be kicking myself when I get the answer.
You people disappoint me.
Terribly sorry, will endeavor to do better - pip pip, cheerio.
I’ve seen a couple of movies that deal with Dunkirk… I think The Others at least alludes to it, and I seem to recall an older movie wherein non-soldier types mustered civilian boats to rescue trapped servicemen… wait. That may have been a Twilight Zone episode.
Sorry if I was unclear. The way I remember it the scene was only dialogue. The movie (TV show) was not about Dunkirk. This one part had someone talking about it sometime after the fact.
