Son of Techno-Peasant - Mac Question - Programs Opening on Start-up

[sigh] Following up on my last thread on helping PiperDad with the arcane computer arts, he’s somehow managed to have two programs that automatically open on start-up (Mac Mail and DVD Player). I’ve tinkered with my Mac and I’ve not been able to find out how to turn them off.

Can anyone help me to help PiperDad?

Thanks again.

Look in System Preferences -> Accounts -> His Account -> Startup Items (or login items)

Select and delete them from the list

What OS is he running?

In Leopard, I can go to

system preferences > accounts > login items

to view my startup programs.

thanks - I’m going to his condo tomorrow, so I’ll try to fix his various problems.
