songs about underage girls

The Doors covered Back Door Man written by Willie Dixon

Yeah, I’m a back door man
I’m a back door man
The men don’t know
But the little girl understand

You can’t take “little girls” literally there. The whole point of a back door man is that he sneaks in to fool around with other men’s wives. That’s what the men don’t know about.

Another Doors cover is Alabama Song (Whiskey Bar) by Brecht and Weill. Morrison apparently changed the lyrics from “Show us the way to the next pretty boy” to “Show me the way to the next little girl”.

Forgive me if this song has been suggested, but could “Girl, You’ll Be A Woman Soon” from Neil Diamond be a song about an under age girl?
God bless you and Neil always!!!

“All the young girls love Alice” by Elton John

Not only 16 but also a lesbian prostitute. How’s that?

Which sounds like the self-conscious overly dramatic voice of an underage boy trying very hard to get her to “go too far” by using teenage reverse psychology. Especially in that operatic, “Oh bitter winds of fate” voice. The protagonist is a manipulative creep, say I.

Not a Woman Not a Child by Dave Edmunds

Led Zeppelin “Sick Again”, “Someday soon youre gonna reach sixteen”

Off topic, sorta, last week I was talking to a co-worker about the Ides of March, and there was a group called that, and they had a creepy song called “Vehicle”,

Friendly stranger in black sedan…got pictures candy, etc.

Looked it up, writer said about drug dealers…

No, it’s not about drugs, it’s about girls, maybe a particular one, and while it doesn’t explicitly say her age, it suggests she’s underage. Part of the chorus is, “Great God in heaven, you know I love you.” I’m thinking it might be from a pimp’s POV.

The First Man You Remember from the musical Aspects of Love is being sung to a 15 year old girl. But the man singing it is her father, which makes it very sweet.

Wow. I can’t believe no one brought up Billy Idol’s Cradle of Love, which is quite explicitly on topic.

I’ll also mention Domino by Kiss:

Never had confession, never had a home
Never had no worry, until I met Domino
Ain’t the virgin Mary, love her I confess
Got my hesitations,
'cause she kisses like the kiss of death
Loves lots of money, back’s against the wall
Calls me “Sugar Daddy”,
She knows she’s got me by the balls
They call her Domino - “so fine”

Got a reputation, haven’t got a hope
It’s a sticky situation,
If she ain’t old enough to vote

Loves to play with fire, loves to hurt so good
Loves to keep me burnin’,
'cause she’s a bad habit, bad habit
Bad habit that’s good, good, good

Mötley Crüe – All In The Name Of …:

She’s only fifteen
She’s the reason, the reason that I can’t sleep
You say illegal
I say legal’s never been my scene

Damn Yankees’ Coming of Age is ambiguous, but maybe?

Little sister, hits the stage
She can’t help it, she’s comin’ of age
Little junior, he’s all in a rage
Did you notice she was comin’ of age

Also from Ted Nugent - Little Miss Dangerous

SHE’S MY LITTLE MISS DANGEROUS
LITTLE MISS DANGEROUS TO ME
LITTLE MISS DANGEROUS
LITTLE MISS DANGEROUS TO ME

OH YES SHE IS
LOOKING FOR TROUBLE, LOOKING FOR SEX
WALKING ON THE WILD SIDE, SHE’S SO COMPLEX
SHE’S ON FIRE, THE HEAT IS COMING ON
THE GIRLS ON FIRE, SHE BURNS ALL NIGHT LONG
HIGH HELL SNEAKERS
HEAD TO TOE IN LACE
SUCH A DANGEROUS BODY
WITH A LITTLE GIRLS FACE

The Look by Roxette:

One, two, three, four walking like a man
Hitting like a hammer
She’s a juvenile scam
Never was a quitter
Tasty like a raindrop
She’s got the look

Heavenly bound
Cause heaven’s got a number
When she’s spinning me around
Kissing is a color
Her loving is a wild dog
She’s got the look

Also, Cherry Pie by Warrant:

Swing it! All night long,
Swing it!
Swingin the bathroom
Swingin’ on the floor
Swingin’ so hard
We forgot to lock the door
In walks her daddy
Standin’ six foot four
He said you ain’t gonna swing
With my daughter no more

Bon Jovi’s song Runaway about a young girl who runs away and ends up being a hooker (probably, though also not explicit):
Ooh, she’s a little runaway
Daddys girl learned fast
All those things he couldnt say

Ooh, she’s a little runaway
Daddys girl learned fast
Now she works the night away

I didn’t notice Aerosmith’s Walk This Way being mentioned, though it’s about a young boy being “taught” the ways of sex by all the young girl’s around him, so maybe it isn’t on target, but it does specifically call out schoolgirls, cheerleaders and sister and a cousin, and three young ladies in the school gym locker.

Donovan’s Mellow Yellow: “I’m just mad about fourteen and fourteen’s just mad about me.”

And just to raise a point I think relevant to the discussion, besides all these songs from the past that reference the sexuality of young girls, the Prof may want to give some thought to the fact that so many more modern songs have been sung by young girls themselves making explicit reference (a la the Runaways’ Cherry Bomb) to their own sexuality. A short and obvious list:

Candy by Mandy Moore
Genie in a Bottle by Christina Aguilera
Give Me a Sign by Britney Spears

There are probably more recent examples, but I don’t really follow that stuff anymore. Based on images I’ve seen of some of these Disney girls lately I’m guessing the trend is continuing.

Gary Puckett and The Union Gap also sang This Girl is a Woman Now. I thought it was creepy back then, and it’s even creepier to me now:

Our hearts told us we were right.
And on that sweet and velvet night
A child had died, and a woman had been born.

The version on Donovan in Concert is even more explicit: “I’m just mad about fourteen year old girls, they’re mad about me.”

In case it hasn’t been mentioned here, Fourteen by the Vandals. And I assume this song is in jest though.

Baby Fat by Wet Willie is one of the most graphic and open songs about that IMO:

Hello - Lionel Richie.

The video makes it clear the song is about a high school (opposed to University/College) aged girl.

The Ocean, By Led Zeppelin

"Sitting round singing songs 'til the night turns into day
Used to sing on the mountains but the mountains washed away
Now I’m singing all my songs to the girl who won my heart
She is only three years old and it’s a real fine way to start. "

That line refers to Robert Plant’s daughter, who was three years old at the time the song was recorded. In concert, he would update the lyrics to reflect her current age.

“This Girl Is A Victim Now” might be more like it.

Assuming it’s the same teenybopper from Young Girl, it would seem that rather than run, she chose not to get out of his out of his mind (which he subsequently changed), and they went too far.
Of course, the lyrics in YG also make it clear that she seduced him.

“All In The Name Of Rock” by Motley Crue is about boinking a 15 year old groupie.
