Songs from or whole concerts you attended on official live recordings

Another show I attended: Todd and Utopia Live At The Old Waldorf, San Francisco: August 1978.

The Old Waldorf was a great place to see a show; small, low stage, and great sound. Sometimes they had an open floor, sometimes cocktail tables. I saw Devo there on the tour when they were wearing their yellow jumpsuits and Bob Casale ran across the tabletops while playing his tricked out La Beye guitar.

I was there as well - one of the advantages of having an older brother was he and his friends took me to many shows…I had just turned 15…he also took me to my first Grateful Dead show when I was 14 that was later turned into Dick’s Picks release…

I saw the Grateful Dead opening night, Saturday night and Halloween night 1980 at Radio City Music Hall, the Halloween show was one of two used for their “Dead Ahead” album…

(Footnote: my brother and I attended the Saturday night Phil and Bobby last March at RCMH which featured an appearance by Trey, that was pretty cool…)

That’s okay, I’m still keeping in reserve the name I came up with (around age 14) for a female-led metal band: Uterus.

I assume there will be umlauts over the 'u’s? Üterüs

Let’s see. I was at one of the 4 Springsteen LA Coliseum shows, but not the one that ended up on the album.
In 1985, I was at a George Thorogood show at the Hollywood Palladium that was recorded and broadcast as a Westwood One radio special a few months later. I tuned in midway through, not realizing it was the show I had been to until I recognized some between song banter.

I went to Bob Mould’s Circle of Friends show. I think you can see my friend’s face on the DVD for about a quarter of a second.

I just Googled them. They appear to have been a 1980s staple in that region.

And the last Google link on the first page is to the Dope.

OK, this one makes me think of another thread possibility, bands that you saw live several/many times, bands that you loved, but never made it big beyond the region you grew up in and you don’t understand why…

For me, growing up in Bawlmer as a kid in the '70’s and young adult in the '80’s, it’s Crack the Sky
