Songs indelibly linked to a movie

I was at work today, and they played Seal’s “Kiss by a Rose” as the Muzak of the moment, and I noticed that whenever I hear that song, I always think of Batman. And, being the SDMB geek that I am, I thought, “Hey, that’ll make a good thread!” So…

Aerosmith’s “I Don’t Wanna Miss a Thing”- Armageddon
Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody”- Wayne’s World (showing my age, aren’t I?)
Smashmouth’s “All-Star”- Mystery Men
George Thorogood’s “Bad to the Bone”- Terminator 2

I’m not sure if these qualify…

  1. Houston/I’ll Always Love You/Bodyguard

  2. White/You Sexy Thing/Full Monty

  3. Any “title” song

e.g. Goldeneye, Die Another Day …etc

“The Time of my Life” from “Dirty Dancing.”

“Blue Velvet.”
Song + movie.

In your eyes - Say Anything

Ben - by Michael Jackson. Movie: Willard
Crisman Glover in the new version should be way cool. He is so weird.

[ul]“As Time Goes By” - Casablanca
“The Power of Love” (Huey Lewis and the News) - Back To The Future
anything sung by Vikki Carr - Moonstruck[/ul]

“Don’t You Forget About Me” (Simple Minds) - The Breakfast Club

“Oh Yeah” (Yellow) - Ferris Bueller’s Day Off

“Mrs. Robinson” – The Graduate

“Old Time Rock 'n Roll” – Risky Business

DAMN! You beat me by 10 minutes. I thought I’d get to be the first to mention Simple Minds.

But, I’ll point out that Yello doesn’t have a ‘W’ in it. So there.

Actually, Ben was the theme song to the sequel to Willaerd also called Ben
“Unchained Melody” - Ghost

I will always cringe when I hear “Stuck in the Middle With You” because of its placement in Reservoir Dogs.

And at least that godawful “Can’t Fight the Moonlight” song by Leann Rimes will be forever linked with images of Piper Perabo dancing on a bar in Coyote Ugly.

Not exactly the OP, but still related . . .

“The William Tell Overture” - The Lone Ranger

"The Liberty Bell March - Monty Python’s Flying Circus

“Love and Marriage” - Married . . . With Children

Born to Be Wild = Easy Rider

This may be a stretch, but now whenever I hear Singin’ in the Rain I think of the rape scene in A Clockwork Orange.

Whenever I hear “Heart and Soul”, I think about Big.

“Walking on Sunshine” by Katrina and the Waves will forever be associated with the god-awful pro-capitalism 1980s’ style Michael J. Fox movie Secret of my Success.

Wagner’s “Ride of the Valkyries” and Apocalypse Now

and Fanfare for the Common Man (IIRC) and Space Odyssey

I too think of A CLOCKWORK ORANGE when I hear “Singin’ in the Rain.” And there is a particular Phil Collins song (though I can’t recall the title at the moment) that will now forever be associated with AMERICAN PSYCHO in my mind.

Roxanne…as sang by Eddie Murphy in 48 Hrs

“Jessie’s Girl” -Rick Springfield

Will now forever be associated with the crazy fireworks drug dealer in Boogie Nights.

Only You - So I Married An Axe Murderer. (in 7 languages)

So-Lo TU…
