Obscurity alert…
“And she’s walking on the edge of a crowd…” – The Sundays, “On Earth”
“And in the end we shall achieve in time/the thing they call divine” -"…In The Meantime," Spacehog
And I Love You So was mentioned a couple of times. It was written by Don McLean, who also wrote Castles in the Air, which begins “And if you ask her why…”
And how could I forget another Rod Argent song, Tell Her No by the Zombies:
And if she should tell you “come closer”
And if she tempts you with her charms
Tell her no no no no no-no-no-no no no no no no-no-no-no no no no no
And they called it puppy loooooooove:)
Though that might not be the opening line.
Well, if you want to go that way, how 'bout this:
“And IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIeeeeIIIIIIIIIIIIIeeeeIIIIIIIIIII will always love yooooooooooooooooooooooou…”
Apologies for messing up the horizontal. What really annoys me is the second of silence, then the percussive explosion, just before the voice is heard again. I once got into an elevator I thought was silent, then heard that. Picture a Peanuts character backflipping the way they do when someone yells.
According to that lyrics site that was posted above, it is, impunha. [sub]Like I said in my post above…[/sub]
I’m not sure about the name of the song, but there is an Elton John Bernie Taupin song that begins:
And now it’s all over,
The birds can rest again…
I think it’s the last song on Madman Across the Water.
I haven’t heard that in twenty years.
“And The Band Played On,” written I think sometime in the 30’s, but recorded at least once (and famously) by Mandy Patinkin.

Of course, it’s not the ‘and’ that gets the featured treatment there; it’s the pronouns that Whitney tortures to death in her rendition.
And her listeners, too, of course.
Rilch, let’s start a club of people who absolutely hate the Whitney Houston version of that song. I bet we could get most of this board to join.
And the Cradle Will Rock…
Classic Van Halen
I much prefer the original by Dolly Parton.
She’s got amazing…
wigs.

I’d like to help, but I’m trying to organize the lynch mob against Bette Midler for what she did to “Wind Beneath My Wings”. As I mentioned in another thread, Grover Washington Jr.'s version is, to me, the only one.
And Firefly, you’re right: it should actually have been “An DIIIIIIeeeIIII…” The “and” is just a springboard for the “I”. I’m picturing waves of force pushing outwards from an epicenter, like the effect propaganda used to say the atomic bomb would have.
