But the first single from their next album (no longer on Arista) was Dave’s “Rock and Roll Cities,” a Big Dumb Rock Song that name-checks a bunch of U.S. cities. There are several songs on the album that are much better, including Dave’s other contribution, “When You Were a Child.”
“Stairway to Heaven” was never released as a single either.

It’s actually the B-side of the only single from the Sgt Peppers album. The A-side is “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band"/"With a Little Help from My Friends” and was released a full nine years after the album. It made it all the way to number 71 on the charts.
