Keef legendarily wrote the hook riff and chorus by recording it into a reel-to-reel in his hotel room and then falling asleep. When he rewound the tape he couldn’t remember doing it but liked it enough to turn it over to Mick for some lyrics, but not so much that he was pleased when it was picked to be the single.
