Now, most of these entries in this thread will prolly be from the 70s, the era of stoner rock and radio stations that would play singles too fast to play more songs causing actual recordings to be too sped down, but all of these sounds would sound better if you just took the actual recordings and without any fancy studio technology, just sped them up between 5 and 10 percent. If Windows Sound Recorder had a Speed up by 10% option instead of double or half it would completely be sufficient:
– Paranoid, Black Sabbath
– Afternoon Delight, Starland Vocal Band
– Teenage FBI, Guided by Voices
Hmmm, not sure if it’s the original version, it’s the one on the Best Of, off a 1997 EP. Not saying it isn’t good, it’d just sound better sped up a tad.
Speaking of which, it seems like “Swamp” was recorded slightly too slow as well…it wouldn’t sound better than way, the nastiness and sliminess is perfect, but it just dont sound normal!
