Maybe the person has an attitude that’s completely wrong. Or the life that’s described in the song just plain sucks.
Here’s my list:
Creep by Radiohead
Doll Parts by Hole Explains a lot about Courtney Love
What It’s Like by Everlast. Three realistic and depressing vignettes
Novocaine for the Soul by Eels…
Any others?

“Ain’t No Sunshine When She’s Gone.” I mean, seriously. The guy is miserable whenever she’s gone; he doesn’t know where she went to, why she left, how long she’ll be away, or if she’s ever coming back. I listen to it and think, “Oh, for god’s sake, either sleep with her sister or kill yourself.”
"Fast Car by Tracy Chapman
Suzanne Vega’s “Luka”-I remember hearing that song in the late 80s and feeling extremely sorry for Luka even though I was barely a tween myself.
All 1980s hip-hop music applies here for me.
For me, it would be:
“Seasons in the Sun,” “Rocky,” “Honey,” and “The Autumn of My Life.”
