I don’t think some of these would be considered anthemic. Most of what I thought of has been mentioned except All the Young Dudes performed by Mott the Hoople and written by David Bowie, Considered the Glam Rock Anthem by some.
Ooops just thought of another one by Bowie, Drive-In Saturday. Apparently he had a thing for these types of endings. Can you tell I’m a big fan?
Depeche Mode’s “Never Let Me Down Again”, particularly this live version, where the ending is almost half the length of the track.
Also, like many of their songs, Sigur Ros’ Varúð has a loud, growing, anthemic ending.
