I went to an open-air concert this summer that went on for like 5 hours because there were so many bands playing. We wanted to be up front and and the ground was rising somewhat up to the stage. So we were going all out for several hours while stressing our calves, because of this angle. I should´ve known.
The day after, I almost fell flat on my face when I tried to walk. Stairs were the worst. My calves were hurting so bad… Same thing with my friends It took about one week for the pain to go away.
Yesterday, I went to another concert, which wasn´t that long. But my calves and shoulders still ache a little.
Ever had something similar happen to you?
Yeah, I went to a Megadeth concert this past Sunday. When I left, most of my body was a little sore from headbanging. Also, my ears were severely ringing. It was still pretty sweet, though.
Well, there was that one time I ended up in the emergency room, or the time I stage dove at some hardcore show and the only part of my body that got caught was my feet. Next thing I knew, I was sitting up on the other side of the club in the middle of a conversation with some girl I didn’t know. I have no idea how I got there or who she was.
I couldn’t move my neck for two days after the AC/DC For Those Who Like To Rock Tour. I don’t know how Angus does it, day in, day out.
A truly debilitating affliction for those of us who rock n roll all night and party every day.
Gig neck.
I can’t bang my head for more than a minute without suffering for days.
However, and I know you won’t believe it, if you try the “tillian version” of headbanging, your neck will be far less sore (but not completely pain free)
Bang your head horizontally, twisting from side to side at the neck, rather than up and down.
It works!
