I’d say it’s probably pretty obvious what I was refering to in the last whatever-you-call-it that I sent, but just in case it’s not, here you go:
As long as you’re apologizing for not following custom around here, you might as well apologize for not putting your apology in the same thread you started, or for not linking to that thread in your followup apology (like this: You are wrong Cecil - Cecil's Columns/Staff Reports - Straight Dope Message Board
or better yet like this), and apologize for mispunctuating both your thread titles, and for not bolding the usernames of those you refer to in your posts, DanMel (like that), and just for being born in general. We all go through this, if that’s any comfort.
Very droll!
Perhaps better suited for ATMB but, since it’s brought up here …
Why do we bold usernames here? This is the first place I’ve come across that does that. I always (well, usually) have because I believe in rule #1 (well, maybe not #1, but it’s way the hell up there) of message boards, lurk for a while first and learn the conventions of the group [del]so that it’ll be easier to infiltrate them and have them perform your nefarious deeds for you and you can then breed with their women[/del] to seem polite and less n00by.

So this thread is closed.
ETA: dhkendall, perfectly valid question. Re-open in ATMB if you wish to pursue further.
