Sorry, I'm new!! Morgellons disease. (moved by samclem)

I am brand new to posting to forums, and this may be off topic. It is so unbelievable I just had to post this. Apparently there is a new pandemic out there. I know, it hasn’t been reported in one of the sheeple news reports, but it WILL kill you. Morgellons Disease May Be Linked to Genetically Modified Food - NaturalNews.com

The OP posted this in an ongoing thread. I split the post to GQ. Take it from there.

What’s the question?

And if there isn’t a question, then there is a question, namely, why move this to GQ?

Those symptoms seem rather vague…

Because a newbie seems to feel as though they have something to share. I’d assume that it can be shot down best in GQ. No need to Pit her/him. I’m taking the part of the benevolent Uncle who is trying to steer them to the light. Pretend it’s a question.

Nobody can even agree what “Morgellons Disease” is. The symptoms run all the way from unexplained fibers to restless leg syndrome to delusions.

It’s Internet-hyped mass hysteria started and maintained by a truly dedicated loon named Mary Leitao, who from the beginning has been described by every physician she’s consulted as being a nutcase. Virtually all people who think they have Morgellons are self-diagnosing themselves, or diagnosing their children, based on stuff they read on the net. Every case that isn’t outright fakery is some other, already described condition.

The word ‘sheeple’ is one of my key indicators for reliable information.

Thank you so very, very much.
To the OP: No, no there isn’t. Step away from the keyboard and go outside for awhile.

Unbelievable is right.
I don’t believe a word of it.

Genetically modified food will not result in plastic fibers embedded in the skin.

From the linked article.

Very vague symptoms that can be caused by pretty near anything.

And Whitney Strieber is not a credible source.

I have experienced nearly every symptom mentioned in the OP’s link. And every one of them can be explained without attributing it to a “new pandemic.”

I’ll let you guys know if it does, in fact, kill me.

Anyone get the feeling the OP won’t be back? Newbie comes in with woo-woo disease warning, links to dubious source and leaves.

You could do a lot worse than simply reading the Wiki article on Morgellons.

Maybe we should harvest their fibers and make clothing from it. I wonder how Morgellons compares to Cotton or Wool. Would it make a good sweater? Or would it make YOU grow fibers too?

Scientists have discovered a new disease. There are no known symptoms. It is impossible to detect and there is no cure. Fortunately, no cases have been reported thus far.

That’s a relief. I thought you were talking about a brain-cloud.

Meanwhile, pharmaceutical companies are scrambling to develop and market a treatment.

It killed me last year.
So, if Morgellons does turn out to be a pandemic, would it be the first ever mental illness that’s viral?

Whatever it is, I’m fairly certain a good psychiatric pharmaceutical would clear it right up.

…you got better?

But just in case, there is a pill for it.

“May cause nausea, insomnia, restlessness and uncontrolled vomiting and diarrhea. Your friends may grow to hate you and your car may not start. Your dogs may turn purple and your cats could grow another head.”
