So glad that it’s Friday, and boy does FCM’s lasagne sound delicious–tempted to make some myself this weekend.
The lasagne was really good, tho I know it’ll be better tomorrow. I’ve cut it up so we have 4 meals in the freezer and a serving in the fridge. I do need to get a proper lasagne pan, tho. My big pan is too shallow.
We’ve been eating in more than normal and it seems like all I do is load and unload the dishwasher! I’m so doggone domestical!! And I expect we’re saving a fortune by not eating out as much as we normally do. Instead, I do dishes.

Glad your flight went well, ems, although I still say that for fellow passengers like that, there should be a lethal weapon on board. I can never hear on any flight (sinuses) and so I’m sure they think I’m moronic–my replies are either distressingly apposite or just plain nonsequiters. Hope your mam is doing ok, (and of course, your dad).

My meeting today has been delayed until lunch on Monday. This afternoon, we had a baby shower, complete with white cake with strawberry and whipped cream filling. I went to be civil and all, but mostly for the cake. :o<—cake eating smiley. Baby showers are not my thing at all. At least ones that are at work at lunch time end, and there are no stupid games. (Am I the only one that hates shower games?)
Hometime! (My director’s father is in the hospital with terminal cancer. Apparently, he could go at any time and she is inconveniently in DC right now. I’ve spent the day changing flights and cars around but it’s all arranged now.)

Librarian friend took me to dinner - we went to Mandarin Cafe, which was a new place for me. Probably the best Chinese food I have ever had. Very nice decor - no tacky Chinese stuff. I had Mandarin Chicken and it was very yummy.
I have been sneezing all day. I am tired of my sinuses and want a divorce from them.
I finally got my kitty! Cloud Maiden and I went to another shelter this afternoon. I really wanted a kitten, but the shelter stressed that one kitten on its own would drive the older cat mad, and we didn’t want three cats, so I petted some of the younger adults and discovered Olive. She is the friendliest cat in the world - already she insists on being curled up beside me and right now is purrrrrrring blissfully. Our first kitty (nameless as of yet) is somewhat jealous, but we’re keeping the two apart right now and they don’t seem to hate each other, so hopefully it’ll work out.
Back from the [del]game[/del] [del]brawl[/del] game. We beat the Columbus Blue Jackets in a shoot out. There were 142 minutes of penalties. gt, did someone dump crack into the Columbus water supply laost night?

I managed to sleep till almost 7 today, altho I was up briefly during the night when I noticed **FCD ** was gone - he woke up and needed some pain meds, and was watching TV till they kicked in, so I went pee, then crawled back under the covers. It’s a glorious 50F here this morning and I’ve turned off the ceiling fans to keep it from getting too chilly.
Plans for the day include driving the mower around. The leaves are falling like mad and if I don’t get them today, it’ll be mega-worse next weekend. I’m a little worried about hooking up the leaf sucker-mulcher by myself - the tongue is kinda heavy because that’s where the engine is. But **FCD ** can’t do it - he’s restricted to lifting 10# max, plus he doesn’t need to be bending over. I’m sure I can work it out. Hope I have enough gas for both engines.
Later today, I’ll have more studio time. The pieces I threw yesterday might be ready to be trimmed today, which would be great. I also need to make a few more cats and dogs, and I have an idea for a table lamp that I’m dying to try out.
Poor Miss Brandy has been making weird sneezy noises. She doesn’t act sick otherwise, but still, this is unlike her. We’ll keep an eye on her and a trip to the vet may be in my future. How convenient that her daddy will be home with her all week, eh? Which reminds me - Haze, Olive looks so cuddlable!!
So, I’m caffeinating, thinking about breakfast. Thinking it would be nice if the Breakfast Fairy showed up with some Eggs Benedict, home fried N.O.T, a mug of hot tea, and maybe a danish on the side. Yep, that would be nice. But chances are I’ll be having a bowl of corn flakes or a cup of yogurt. Life can be so unfair. Woe is me. Sigh. Alas! <insert more high-end whining here>
