NC? Where?
BTW, I was born in Michigan City, grew up in Elkhart County, and moved east from Marion County.

Truffles. The breakfast of champions. Thank you, HoochMama.
More crazy interrupted stupid dreams. Must wake up before I leave to go washer shopping. Yawn. I think tinyninjachef is having some kind of party inside me. He’s really bouncy this morning.
Oh dear, I feel my anonymity slipping away. I’m from Chicken City, too. Swam against the Elkhart team in H.S. Now you’ve got me home sick, missing the Lake. I ususally go back and visit my brothers around Labor Day but missed this year.
Spent time in both Raleigh and the coast while in NC. I hope none of you people work with me or I’m seriously busted for violating internet policy.
AHA!
<runs off to tell boss All About Lil Ms HoosierMama>
Nyah!
I have class tonight. Ugh. And there is this one chick in the class who bugs the heck outta me. She’s all prissy and snippy. What to do?
Gonna rain today or so they say. I hope so-we need it.
Is that all? Damn. I was hoping for something much more exotic, like oxen milk or lizard innards. Something! Betty Crocker and clarified butter-why travel at all?

I’m in Gates County NC right now…
ETA: Herbs, VWife finally got to that Suffolk quilt place yesterday. She’s threatening to bankrupt me…
Why is Sean kissing LOUNE? Does the Factwife know? Are you guys trying to tell us something? How come nobody pointed this out before I did? Y’all are slipping! Get your minds back in the gutter, it’s getting lonely here.
Noooooooooooooooo, not Truffles!!! I’m trying to be good and that is almost too hard to resist!
Today I am burning CDs for press kits. I need to do 21 and they are taking about ten minutes each. Oh, well, I can surf the dope while they are burning.
Good news on the vwife knees, bobbio. I’ll be sending out the puggy vibes on the 15th.
Hi, melli! Don’t feel bad. I regularly forget my anniversary and Mr. Anachi never does. :o
Appropriate other comments to all.
Drive-by. Yeah. I planned to post first thing, but then caught up in something I’m working on and kinda lost track of time. So now it’s lunch; Gnocchi pomodoro, to be exact. Doesn’t go well with truffles though, but I could do with a nice cold beer. Corona, if you please, with a wedge of lime.
Back to lunch and then work.
I just gave away my last Corona, and all my limes are old and hard, but I’d be happy to supply you with a Corona Light, and a wee bit of lime juice. I still have six in my fridge (and two Molson XXX’s, and four cranberry Mike’s). Anybody want dibs on the stuff I don’t drink?
Evening all! Nothing to report this evening.
HRH is asleep and I’ma thinking I could really go a vodka and orange right now! Probably not a good idea given the likelihood that Noor will wake me up several times between 3am and 6am tomorrow morning, but I just have an itch I need to scratch! I would really really like a beer, but we didn’t buy any before Ramadan and the liquor stores are closed for the duration, so it’s either vodka or red wine (Chateau de Cardboard - only the best will do!
). So, what’s a girl to do …
That’s it, I’m out of conversation items.
I hope FCD’s surgery went well.
Fingers crossed VWife’s surgery will go well.
Prayers still winging their way through the ether to SpecialMom and mmmmm’s Dad.
MBG, congrats on surviving the family invasion!
meli, I used to be really good at remembering important dates, till I forgot hubby’s birthday a couple of years ago! He still holds that against me (and they say that it’s a male thing!)
Oky-doky, I hear the vodka calling my name dotty, dotty, dotty … come drink meeeeeee wha…? Kthxbai
Howdy!
Work’s busy again. And tomorrow’s really going to suck. But then I expect Thursday and Friday will be really boring. Couldn’t I spread some of this out a little better? What’s with everything having the same deadline?
We had quasi-Asian pork noodles last night for dinner and leftovers for lunch. Yum! KeithT made something last night that’s in the slow cooker for tonight’s dinner. It’s a pork roast but I’m not really sure what he put on it.
That’s the excitement in my life. Woo.
Wow, I finally got caught up! And of course, I can’t remember much of what I read, sionce it was over a 6 hour period…
Ouchie! on whoever’s neck is hurt. That sounds painful!
Glad you survived the visitors, MBG. How’s your liver?
Perfect nick for you, Hooch. And thanks for the truffles! Yum!
Work beckons. <sigh>
Dinner is in the oven because class starts at 430 and goes until 845 (two different classes), so I make dinner early on Tuesdays. You are now all informed.
I slept again today(3 hours). This is not good. Health insurance starts on 10/1, so that’s good. I got an Obama poster in the mail (?). It is somewhat large–what to do with such a thing? Put it on my dorm room wall?
I would except I lack a dorm room.
The rest of the mail was junk. Some cooking mag (no ads) sent me the exact same edition --sample, teaser, whatever–that they sent me last winter. You’d think they’d vary things a bit.
Urgh. Just got back from shopping extravaganza. Neither my Mum or I (should that be 'Mym Mum or me?) have much shopping tolerance. We ordered my washer/dryer, which is supposed to be delivered on October 5th, went and looked at some baby stuff, went to Costco and a supermarket.
10-4. Too much being in stores.
I’m glad to be home, even if it’s bloody hot. 32C is too hot for the end of September.
Sean, did you ever find out what went bang yesterday?
Nope. No one is talking.
Of course, that just means that the gov’t has covered it all up. There were some military helicopters spotted in my area yesterday. (Yeah, well, so what if we have about 5 airfields within 10 minutes of flying distance from my house. Doesn’t mean anything.)
T storm coming…oh, T storm HERE!

That was a relief. The weather these past couple days has been unbearable.
The interview was pretty casual. It’s a non-profit organization that’s mostly focused on Hispanic families, looking for ESL teachers. I thought they might not like me because I don’t speak Spanish, but they seemed pretty happy to see my resume. Hopefully I’ll get a couple classes to help me make ends meet without having to bother my parents.
I should make dumplings tonight - it’s the Harvest Moon festival - but I feel incredibly lazy. We’ll see.

My Mum or I…
(My mom taught me this - you split it up and say “I have no shopping tolerance” or “me have no shopping tolerance” - “I” sounds right, so it is right!)
I’m such a grammar nerd.
ETA: Herbs, VWife finally got to that Suffolk quilt place yesterday. She’s threatening to bankrupt me…
Hehehe… sorry, BBBobbio! Just think of how those projects will keep her busy during her recouperation, though. She’ll be focused on doing them, not on your ambulance runs, right?
Gotta look at the positives.
Beautiful day out today! My daughter and I went to the local farmer’s market and got some squash, green beans, pears, fresh apple cider (which is delicious!), some foccacia and a loaf of pumpkin bread. We’ll definitely eat good for the next few days.
I don’t have any kiss stories to tell, really. I -wish- that I did. laughs I can’t even remember my first kiss, and that’s pretty awful. I was always getting crushes on unattainable guys, unfortunately! Now I had plenty of -fantasy- kisses … I don’t think they really count, though. My relationship-dar has never been very finely tuned, cause I rarely can tell when guys like me, if that makes any sense. There was one guy that I would see, on and off, for a number of years… it was mainly a physical thing, but boy was he a great kisser!!! sighs I haven’t seen him in -years- although I did talk to him in 2000, and he was ready to pick up where we left off.
I, unfortunately, was not - wanting something more than he could give me, at that point in time. Oh well!
