soul meets soul on lovers' lips - a kissable MMP

Er, I should clarify - I meant that I thought they might not like me for the job, not that they’d reject me as a person.

And it should be “neither my mom nor I.” [/teacher mode]

Hooch I grew up on the Chattahoochee River which we call the “Hooch” or “Hoochie” and that’s what made me come up with those nicks for ya. Alan Jackson (country singer for those that don’t know) grew up on the “Hooch” too and wrote a song called Way Down Yonder On The Chattahoochee. One of the lines, “down by the river on a Friday night, beer in little cans and the pale moonlight” brings back sooooooo many memories. Ok, thus endeth my little trip down memory lane.

So, what, Sean and LOUNE are kissin’ each other bye in the mornin’s now? Sean that could hurt your poster child for middle aged straight white guys image.

BBBobbio glad the Vwife got her surgery date finally. This must mean the other stuff is better now. Good.

gotti ouch! Hope you’re relaxin’ and takin’ care of that. DH should wait on you hand and foot. Tell him I said so.

Today, for the first time, I got a lesson on bottle labeling at da brewry. Seems the labeler on the line (B8 to be exact) that was bottlin’ Miller Chill went all haywire during the night resultin’ in a buncha messed up labels which means that all the beer with the messed up labels has to go to reselect to decide which bottles are and are not salvagable. For some, to me, inexplicable reason I got drug over to the line and given a lesson in the workin’s of the bottle labeler. I mean I have not spent even one hour ever on any of the bottle lines but it was felt I needed to see this. Maybe it’s a sign that I might be made permanent? Maybe somebody thinks I have a secret fascination with bottle labelers? Who knows. 'Tis a mystery even now.

Supper tonight was made by Papa John’s. 'Twas good.

Ok, I gotta get outta here and get busy. Tomorrow is the big kickoff campaign for the church’s annual pledge campaign. Thus, we are havin’ a dinner at the church. The main course is being furnished but various others of us are providin’ salads, side dishes and desserts. I got called upon to make nanner puddin’, so I must go and make a laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarge amount of ‘nanner puddin’ whilst ol’ y’all know stands around droolin’. What can I say… man loves him some ‘nanner puddin’!

Later Y’all!

Right. I know the Split Up rule, but my shopping fogged brain couldn’t figure out the correct grammar.

It’s very hot. Mork, I hope you’re happy, you horrible hot weather loving person. And Sunspace. I’m waiting for snow. Please, snow.

Forgot to send good wishes out to gotti. Hope you’re feeling better today.

How come I had to go to work before the truffles were handed out. Did you leave me any? (Please say yes…Please say yes…Please say yes…)

Ooooh, I was going to jump in with “neither…nor…” But Haze has saved me from going into teacher mode.

Glad you appear to have survived the family, MBG.

A beer would be good, also. There seems to be an awful lot of sharing going on today.

It was very kind of you to actually have your first kiss on my birthday, meli and Ali. On an unrelated note: did I mention I’ll be in Michigan on the weekend (hi LOUNE!)? Unfortunately, it looks like I’m scheduled down to the last minute, so I don’t get to have a Dopefest. I find this completely unfair.

Glad to hear you’re finishing up at the current job, Nava. Hopefully the next gig will be more reasonable. Are you still thinking about getting into that translation program?

My dinner was 3 peanut butter tacos. Too lazy to make quesadillas. Also, peanut butter tastes really good on a hot corn tortilla. I also like PB&J on flour tortillas.

There are odd noises emanating from the sky. It sounds like someone is shoving furniture together up there. Or maybe bowling. Also, there were these odd little droplets of water falling out of the sky earlier. I do not understand what to make of these phenomena.

I’m tired. Maybe I’ll take a nap.

Also need to do some clean-up as my brother will be showing up here Thursday night with my nephew in tow.

Hugs to all…

Back after a while.

GT

Well…you see…I…er…
…well, have you seen his plump lips? Why, they’re as full and crimson as an altar boy’s freshly-pabbled bottom!
No! Wait! I didn’t say that!

Heh.

Edited to add: Hi gt! Where are you going to be?

East Lansing, again, but I’m going with my brother and nephew and brother and his friends have already filled up my schedule.

GT

It’s even weirder when you get the noises but no drops of water. That’s happened several times since I moved. It goes against everything I’ve ever experienced when the noises happen; it’s supposed to be wet and windy and scary (and not in the good way, I’m scared of storms!) along with the noises.

I leave in a week on my vacation, and I still don’t know exactly how long I’ll be staying. I really need to figure that out.

I got whacked in the nose earlier by an overenthusiastic yellow lab who was so happy to be taken out of the cage to be brushed that he jumped and his nose collided with mine. It doesn’t hurt now, but oy vey did that hurt.

Any updates, FCM? I know how nerve-racking it is to have a family member have surgery, even though everything goes fine.

I’m having a heck of a time with the temperature in my room. Either it’s too cold or too warm. I’m hoping this stops happening when it gets colder and stays that way so I can find the perfect setting (each room has its own heaters) and keep it to my preferred chilly, but not quite to meat locker temp and not have to touch it until spring, unless it gets really cold! But it’s difficult when the temps are bouncing between mid-20s at night to mid-50s during the day, and it’ll be getting a bit warmer overall for the next week or so.

I have a 20-year-old coworker. This makes me feel old, since he gets by on about four or five hours of sleep a night, but I’m useless without at least 7 and preferably more. I look forward to…going to bed. At least on work nights! And I was never a night owl like he is, but I still used to be a bit more flexible in a pinch. Oh well. Bed is going to be niiiice tonight!

Hi everyone!

Very cool OP Haze.

My first kiss…hmmm…it must not be so memorable.

I have kissed a couple of fellows, though, that actually made my toes curl and gave me that good tingly feeling in the pit of my stomach.

The first fellow was a guy that I hadn’t known for all that long, but there was some sort of connection. It was obvious we both felt an immediate connection, but for some reason we just remained friends. Everyone commented on how we seemed to belong together, but we’d both laugh and say we were just friends. One night, we had spent hours and hours just talking. He was one of those people that I immediately felt comfortable with. The silences between us were warm and comfortable too. At any rate, it just seemed we leaned closer and closer together and the next thing I knew, we were kissing. It was absolutely toe curling and I felt like fireworks were going off. Soft, yet firm, no slobber, just perfect. Light touches of tongue once in awhile. After that long, slow kiss, we both sat back and just looked at either with stunned amazement. He told me that was the most perfect kiss he’d ever had. It never went beyond that kiss. We both went our own ways not long after that. I haven’t seen him in over 25 years.

The second fellow was my husband. He still makes my toes curl.

I hope everything is going well for FCD. I hope FCM get a chance to check in and at least let us know if things went well.

Hugs to all those that need them. This week will be extremely busy between work, errands and my sister’s wedding on Friday. I’m hoping I’ll get to pop in, but I don’t know how much free time I’ll have.

Just checking in - I’ll get caught up reading later.

The surgery went very well, if a bit long. By the time he was in his room, my sweetie was saying the numbness and tingling in his hand was about gone, and by this morning, he was in good spirits, thanks to the miracle of dilaudid. His physical therapy went very well, and he walked around the floor a couple of times, just because. His doctor was very pleased and said he would probably be discharged today.

Well, he’s still in the hospital. His incision is draining quite a bit, and he’s in some pain. I’m home because I have grand jury duty tomorrow and I really didn’t want to miss it. My inlaws are still at my mom’s house, and they’ll be bringing the patient home tomorrow, assuming the drainage tapers off. If not, I’ll be driving back up there on Thurs morning.

Bottom line, it looks like maybe they got it all fixed this time. Great relief all around. Now I’m going to pop my meds and crawl into bed - 2 nights of sleeping in Mom’s basement wasn’t too restful. I’ll get caught up eventually. I promise!

Nighty-night… zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I’m glad to hear the surgery went well. I hope he’s discharged tomorrow.

I have a sort of funny story.

A house just up the street from me has been on the market for a couple months or so. It was listed at $315,000. Today, it became apparent the sellers switched real estate companies.

This afternoon, the doorbell rang and my husband answered. A gentlemen was standing at the door and introduced himself as first name last name from Such and such Real Estate. He told my husband he had just listed the house I mentioned above at $310,000 and wanted to know if my husband knew anyone interested in buying it. Then he just stood there with a weird expression on his face. My husband was a little taken aback, but replied that he didn’t know anyone interested in buying a house at this time.

I guess you have the agent kudos for being a go-getter, but it’s odd all the same.

Aww, you’re standing up for me? How sweet!
:: smothering Lunch with kisses:: :: watching for toe action::
What’s for lunch?

**
gotti**, wow. . . that sounds really painful. Sending healing thoughts out to gotti. I hope the pain subsides soon.

Thanks for asking about me. Much appreciated. I’m fine. Present and accounted for.

Do tell!. . . . more . . . . much more. :stuck_out_tongue:

Oh, and Sean. . . .how you doin’?

Hey LOUNE baby, have you forgotten me already?! Has Sean’s lips made you forget everything? What do you mean. . . you don’t remember your last kiss?! :dubious:
FCM, great to hear that FCD is doing well. Thanks for checking in. I hope you get some sleep soon.
All my windows are open at the moment. Don’t do this at home, boys and girls. Has anyone ever left a container of tofu out on the container? The containers of tofu in water? Don’t try it. I’d never done it before, so I thought. . . what’s the harm in leaving these couple containers here for a few days. Well, tofu is pressed soybeans and the heat makes them ferment. . . in water. The smell is . . . unpleasant. . . much the way you’d think fermented beans would smell like. What was I thinking?! :smack:
So after the putrid stench dissipates, I’m off to bed.

Good night and good morning everyone! ~waving~ to Dotty!!

My song tonight is prompted by the stench.

Green eggs and ham
[Dr. Seuss]I do not like green eggs and ham
I do not like them, Sam-I-am
Do not like them here or there
I do not like them anywhere.

Not in a house, not with a mouse
Not here or there, not anywhere
I do not like green eggs and ham
I do not like them, Sam-I-am

Could you? Would you? With a goat?
Could you? Would you? On a boat?
Could you? Would you? In the rain?
Could you? Would you? On a train?[/Dr. Seuss]

But the last verse might be applicable to the thread. :stuck_out_tongue:

Dude, in Korea, fermented beans are a delicacy. They smell like ass but taste great with rice. :stuck_out_tongue:

I should be prepping for class, but I’m going to bed instead. I did make those dumplings though. Not half bad.

Message boards are sending me birthday greetings. I mean, would it kill them to send a gift once in a while? It’s not like I’m hard to buy for.

It just started raining out. (It’s still muggy though. And no, LiLi, while I like the warm weather, this is a bit much – especially when, thanks to dumbass municipal by-law, our building management had to turn off the A/C on the 15th, so right now I’ve got the fans a-blastin’ in a futile attempt to forfend the very real possibility of becoming a puddle of plasma in my chair. It still isn’t enough to make me wish for winter though, so the tongue, I’m afraid, stays out[sup]*[/sup].)

Meanwhile, I need to get to bed, so get to bed I will. If I don’t show up tomorrow, someone call 911 to my apartment. Tell them to bring a shop vac.

[sub]* This has nothing to do with kissing. Not that I have a problem with that.[/sub]

In Japan, it’s called Natto. When you take it out of the container, the sticky strings are like cheese strings on pizza, but only sticky and longer. Yack!

So you’re telling me you eat the stuff? You eat something that smells like ass?! :: where’s the barf smilie?:: :dubious:

Mork, wait!. . . it’s your birthday?

Just in case, Happy Birthday, Mork!!

(if not, save it for the real time)

Happy Birthday, Mork!

Apparently, I had a need to be awake just to wish you that… :stuck_out_tongue: There’s really no other explanation for me being awake at this hour.

GT

Aww, I thought you stayed up to say hi to me and the rest of the late night crew.
~waving~ to gt!. . . although I won’t be up much longer either. Sleep well and sweet dreams!

Well, yes, of course. There’s that, too. G’night!

GT

Ah, there you are! I knew you’d show up
:: kisses back::

For lunch? A loaf of bread, a jug of wine and thou… That’s all that’s needed for Lunch.

Hi everybody else! Not really up to saying much more – between caffeine deprivation (soon to be fixed) and a general I-don’t-really-feel-like-talkking mood… I think I’ll mostly lurk this week. See y’all around!

gotti, I hope your neck gets all straightened up soon. Sounds terribly painful.

gt, for now the plans are:

  • in the next few minutes, book a hotel in Köln, for the second weekend in October,
  • spend the next couple weeks lazying about not doing much
  • go to Köln as planned
  • sometime during that week, close my Swiss bank account
  • on Friday 19, leave my apartment and drive to Nice through Switzerland and Italy (which is the path recommended by viamichelin)
  • spend the weekend in Nice
  • drive from Nice to Mom’s on the 22nd
  • have a meeting with the people from the Chamber of Commerce so they can tell me what form of self-employment is most adequate in my case and what documents I need
  • get set up as self employed
  • sign up with a bunch of translation agencies (mostly outside Spain) which do remote work via subcontractors (for some reason most Spanish agencies still want people to work in their office)
  • spend the last week in November with His Englishmanship at his parents’ house in southern Spain. With his parents there. We just have strange ideas of how to have a date, His Englishmanship and me. I’m sure his Mum is looking forward to it, just hope it’s in a good way.
  • see how the translation things work, how things go with HE, what offers I get for consulting stuff starting in January and decide where I want to live

The notion of getting an actual degree in translation is still there, but in Spain you can only start presential college in October, in October or in October. So if it does happen, I can’t sign up until next June or start until October 2008. By then I could be living in Micronesia, knowing me.

Here, Nooner, have a double black on me…

Somebody else will have to make the cake.

Good Mornin’/Whatever Y’all! Up and caffienatin’ here before gettin’ ready for yet another day at da brewry. Dark blue pocket t and blue jeans today. Who knows what wonders are in store for today.

I got the biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig ‘nanner puddin’ made last night and made a smaller one for ol’ y’all know who, the spoiled brat! He took it home with him last night and said he’s gonna take it into work to share. He will. Probably.

Yay on FCD’s surgery goin’ well! Here’s hopin’ he comes home today. I’ve never had grand jury but I’ve always wanted to serve on grand jury. No, I do not know why, it’s just sump’n I’ve always wanted to do.

Ok, need to go caffienate some more and forage for some food cause tummy is rumbly.

HAPPY WEDNESDAY!!! Later Y’all!
