Wow. My first kiss was with my first girlfriend. I was 15, so was she. I know just where I was. It just kind of happened after months of notes passed back and forth, endless highly deep and serious conversations in the halls and after school.
It was mesmerising. We both were light with the lips and breathless. Looking back, I think that kissing is like a narcotic- the cherry high can never be repeated. I’ve had other amazing “first kisses”, but none to compare to the one with Sarah.
I’m a boy-type of person but I have to go with our OP’er and admit that having my entire mouth devoured by a girl who doesn’t kiss well is uh, gross.
A great kiss is SO much more important than a great … other thingy.
I’m awake, and I just finished a breakfast of leftover PapaJohn’s mushroom pizza. In a minute, I’m going to shower and find some grand-jury appropriate clothing, then head to Leonardtown.
I’m hesitant to call FCD, but I told him he could reach me this morning before 7:45 - watch him call while I’m showering…
But yoiks - I have 15 minutes to get cleaned up and outta here!!
I’ll post more later. MWAH!
Incidentally, I don’t recall my first kiss ever or my first kiss with my sweetie. I do recall one guy somewhere in the past who was an outstanding kisser. I think he’s married with 2 kids - dunno - haven’t seen him in years. And now I’m off to shower for sure…
Dunno 'bout the rest of you, but I am starting to wonder about the quality control at Miller brewing–when does any line go smoothly?
Am off to work. Nice and cool here (finally). Watched the war last night.
And class–my class with the terrible instructor? Last night I had a question, so I asked. And her answer didn’t make sense to me(given the context of the discussion), so I asked another question. She told me she wasn’t going to spend any more time on it, “it wouldn’t do any good to spend more time on this”, but that I should think about and then it would make sense. So, I am to learning obscure cataloging rules via telepathy now. Got it. Thanks! Cannot wait until evaluation time.
Happy Birthday, Mindfield!
Congrats on the good surgery FCM. Hope the drainage dries up. Ooh! Grand jury–tell us all about it.
I had a long day yesterday. The computer scheduled an ex-employee to close, and by the time I figured it out, I couldn’t find anybody, so I had to pull another 15 hour day. :smack: At least I get another assistant manager next week, so I may actually get some time off.
rosie, that would be a good slogan, “It’s Wednesday, go hump a Mumper!”
Yay for FCD coming home!
Have fun Socks, I am immune to Novocaine, so I can feel them drilling into me.
Thanks for all the birthday wishes, folks – my first birthday with The Cool Kids. I feel so special with all those colourful stylish fonts ‘n stuff! Think it means anything that my birthday occurs this year on Hump Day? I’m sure there’s something Freudian in there somewhere. Especially the “hump a mumper” thing. In any event I’m caffeinating and already looking forward to the weekend. It was freakin’ humid in my apartment last night. I couldn’t even sleep under any covers for most of the night – and I don’t even wear PJs. Just undies. (I’m sure that’s an image y’all needed this morning.) I did eventually drift off though, but this weather is really putting a crimp in the ol’ Bank of Somnambulism. I expect that if this keeps up for long the manager’s going to send me a letter threatening to put a lien on my sanity if I don’t repay that overdraft soon.
As for Natto – um … no offense to those who might enjoy it, but eww. My first (and only) exposure to it was by proxy via Steve, Don’t Eat It! Some things I am willing to try at least once so I know what it’s like – you never know when stuff you might have dismissed out of hand due to one superficial aspect or another that did not appeal to you might turn out to be pretty awesome. This is not one of them. And not just because of Steve’s colourful play-by-play. Just look at that stuff. It most assuredly does not appeal to my decidedly North American palate.
Major Footwear - I feel your pain. No, really, I had a toothache last night. Nothing a little Dequadin and some codeine didn’t fix though. I hate dentists too – I’m sure that’s a common sentiment. I am convinced that people take dentistry because they have a nascent sadistic side to them. When I had to get a tooth pulled years ago, the dentist was right in there with his dental pliers really going at the thing, pulling as well as he could given the angle he was working at, when a thought occurred to me that I made the mistake of voicing to him.
“What if,” I said as he prepared to go in for another salvo, “the tooth suddenly and unexpectedly comes out as you’re doing that and you end up smashing those pliers into the teeth below?” (For it was an upper rear molar he was extracting and he was pulling with considerable force and no precautions against such a possibility.)
He looked at me blankly for a moment and said, “Well, I never thought about that, but now that you’ve mentioned it I’m afraid this might happen now.” There wasn’t even the merest tinge of sarcasm in his voice. Great. Thanks, doc. Thanks a-freakin’ lot.
gt - I am honored to have been responsible for your insomnia. I think. Or should I be apologizing?
Vertical and about to caffeinate. I’m glad FCD’s surgery went well. I hope they fixed everything this time.
Natto looks disgusting. I’ve never tried it. I don’t want to be anywhere near it.
I’m going to set up a nice stew in the crockpot before I run off to work. Where I hope to read magazines and chat about the new store’s opening instead of working. Whiny Annoying Co-Worker and Driving Husband are working this evening. It will be fun to see if DH and I push WACW down the stairs.
Need tea.
Happy birthday, everyone! (Or is that all Mindfield?) Even if it isn’t your birthday.
I was on the bus to work today and noticed an ad for The Bionic Women in one of those free commuter papers. I got to thinking, are we trying to relive the seventies these days? Unpopular war and looming recession in the US, US and Canadian dollars at par, rising oil procces and renewed interest in solar power, The Bionic Woman starts on TV…
it’s not totally the same, though. We don’t have a charismatic, rich, and very intelligent Prime Minister in Canada. The running out of cheap oil may be for geological reasons.
