Here’s something for you to ponder.
If sound could travel through a vacuum, or if there were some medium between the Sun and the Earth, would we be able to hear the Sun? It certainly gives off enough light energy for us to see it. If so, what would it sound like? A distant fizzle, or a bunch of loud explosions like distant nuclear tests?

Well, the way I understand it is that the sound of nuclear explosions has to do with the rapid expansion of the air because of the heat involved… much the same way is with lightning.
So, if sound could travle through a vacuum I doub’t we’d hear anything.
However, if there were air between us and the sun (nevermind allt he other consequences) then, yeah, you’d probably hear a bunch of really big explosions every second… whether they’d be loud enough to hear or too loud to allow life in thei solar system… I dunno…
