Sound Problems

I just recently noticed a sound problem with my computer’s DVD player. Apparently when I try to play either a DVD or a CD I get very choppy sound. It’s almost as though whatever DVD/CD I put in is skipping ever second.

Anyone have any ideas what’s wrong?
I tried to update my drivers and such, but they are updated.

Maybe you have too much stuff running in the background. What OS are you running?

I’m running XP.

I don’t know if it’s a problem with running too much stuff or not. It’s odd.
