OK, so the economy is tough, trying to cut back bla bla bla. I was doing Netflix’s dual program, i.e. 1 dvd at a time plus instant viewing. The instant option was severely disappointing; very few of the movies that were available via dvd were instantly viewable. The whole 2 years I was on the dual plan, I think I found 10 instant movies to watch. There just seems to be a huge gap between movies available on dvd & those available for instant viewing (I have a Roku bought for that purpose, BTW). I changed my plan to only the dvds.
So, I looked at Hulu and Crackle - not really that big a selection of what I consider mainstream. A lot of the movies are obviously not the big studios, and the tv series, if they have episodes it’s a small #. So, aside for pirate bittorrents, are there some other sources of free movies & tv shows on the net?
Most options are illegal, so I think we’re not allowed to tell you. But Google isn’t bound by the SDMB rules.
Pick any two:
- Free
- Legal
- Wide, mainstream selection
I use
Most library systems I’ve looked at have fairly large collections of DVDs. New releases tend to have long waiting lists and DVDs that have been in the system for a long time, especially children’s films, tend to be beat up; but there should still be a decent collection of recent and mainstream films/shows available for free.
Closed. Most threads seeking illegal downloading of copyrighted material will be closed.
